"Wonderful cruise to Venice for some much welcome sunshine!!"

Overall rating:5 stars

Apart from some rough seas in the Bay of Biscay it was sunshine all the way on this three week cruise to Venice via the Med and the Adriatic . A much welcome oportunity for us to get the sun on our faces - and for some on their bodies too. Wonderful food, good entertainment , friendly passengers and lovely scenery all contributed to another great cruise on Adonia. For those of you who joined and sang with the Adonia choir in the Curzon Lounge some videos of your performances are now on YouTube. Just search for Adonia Choir May 2013.

"wonderful wonderful"

Overall rating:4 stars

A wonderful cruise to Rio via the Caribbean. Excellent food in the pacific restaurant. Friendly and approachable officers and staff. Extra mention to Tracy Clegg and her Entertainment team who worked tirelessly to keep us amused and entertained. The most professional little crew we have come across so far in our short experience of cruising, The team put the Celebrity X entertainment into the shade.

Dining5 stars

Pacific Restaurant excellent. We found Conservatory not so good - food often not hot enough.

Entertainment5 stars

Excellent Entertainment Team - numerous opportunities for fun. the Village Fete - on deck at the equator! Great Sail-Aways, quizzes, films, speakers, dance lessons. Just not enough time in the day to do everything AND sunbathe.

Cabin4 stars

May need upgrading within a year or two but overall comfortable. You don't have time to,spend too much time in it.

Service4 stars

Generally very good. A few grumpy waiters but .sandeep, head waiter, John Rebello and Nishant and Elroy (?) our waiters on table 5 were excellent and helped make our cruise special.

"Fabulous cruise on a fabulous ship"

Overall rating:5 stars

From the moment we boarded Adonia we enjoyed ourselves. The cabin exceeded our expectations and being a small ship meant that we met the same people on a number of occasions and it had a 'family' atmosphere throughout.

Dining5 stars

The dining experience was wonderful. We enjoyed the food and the dining room feel and decor

Entertainment5 stars

The entertainment was first class and varied. All of the entertainments team were friendly and helpful. On this cruise the team undertook a challenge to cycle the length of the Kiel Canal, some 100k, and raise money for Help the Heroes.

Cabin5 stars

The cabin was larger than we had anticipated. It was very clean and comfortable.

Service5 stars

Overall the service was very good. We used room service on a few occasions and found it prompt and the the waiters polite and helpful.

"Our first P&O cruise..."

Overall rating:5 stars

Very pleased with our week's break with some excellent destinations - San Sebastian particularly.

Dining4 stars

Self-service for breakfast and lunch always excellent for choice and service. Dinner in the main dining room excellent in all respects. Breakfast service in main dining room was slow with somewhat surly waiters and portions meagre...disappointing!

Entertainment4 stars

We enjoyed each evening's performance of the theatre company who are very professional...also their presentation of Private Lives one afternoon was excellent. Altogether, the evening shows were a fine end to the day!

Cabin5 stars

Upgraded one deck to Deck A. Very clean and comfortable. Our steward could not do enough for us and he was always cheerful and enjoyed a chat.

Service5 stars

See above - excellent cabin stewards and restaurant waiters at dinner.

"Amazing experience."

Overall rating:5 stars

This was our first cruise chosen really because its the best way to see the fjords. We chose P & O after much research and loved the fact we could go on a smaller adults only vessel. We had a fantastic time. Hoping to persuade my husband in to a Baltic cruise in 2013.

Dining5 stars

We were lucky to be allocated a table for 4 with a couple who also had not cruised before, shared a similar sense of humor and were very good company. We dined at night in the main dining room where we received excellent service from our lovely waiters and the choice of food was good, however it is impossible to eat all of the courses on offer! At breakfast...

Entertainment4 stars

Good shows but too much dancing for our age however there were plenty of other distractions like watching the scenery from the Crows nest with a cocktail in hand.

Cabin5 stars

As it was our first cruise we thought we would start with an inside cabin however we were upgraded to an outside cabin with a picture window which was lovely. The cabin was spacious spotlessly clean and our steward was lovely. He provided ice on a daily basis. My only gripe is the position of the hairdryer, hardly a big complaint.

Service5 stars

Excellent from everybody we met without exception.

Overall an excellent cruise on the little ship with a big heart and an even bigger whistle. Sea was very kind being mostly mirror calm. One drawback was the number of invalid scooters/ wheelchairs on board taking on prisoners.

"Amazing Adonia Adventure!"

Overall rating:5 stars

This was our first proper Cruise. Wow. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The sights were even more breathtaking than the photos.

Dining5 stars

Having a wheat intolerence, i was overjoyed that a gluten free menu was available. I was overwhelemed with the food i was able to have for a change and this was helped by the chefs producing yummy gluten free food - very hard to do!, and Dennis, the Head Waiter who tried to ensure i had exactly what i wanted. Our Waiter, Diego, and Assistant waiters Leeroy...

Entertainment5 stars

interestign entertainment. Of the entertainment staff, we found Darren the most helpful. We feel that to sing The Wild Rover by the dubliners, a rebel song, while telling people to wave the British flag however was inappropriate considering the history of the flag in Ireland, especially Dublin. We have explained to the entertainment staff why this was...

Beautiful view! our Cabin steward Marion was fantastic and so friendly. very clean the only problem was someone on our floor kept blocking their toilet which led to ours frequently not flushing!

"ADONIA : Small ship with a big heart"

Overall rating:5 stars

Great ship for those smaller ports, overall an older looking style of ship, thick carpets and wood panels giving it an older look and feel. Only thing I found it was a little small for us with things to do, but that said for a 7 night cruise it was fine. The staff and the ship itself make up for that.

Dining5 stars

Struggled to try any of the special dining events due to the menus on normal dining being so very very good.

Entertainment5 stars

Small ship entertainment is quite difficult, and with limited venues and small number of people. Having to accomodate 2 sittings and the venue constraints quite an act in its self.

Cabin5 stars

D114 Himalya suite, great space in fact for the 2 of us a bit too much. One word of caution, if you used the balcony chairs / recliners always remember to wipe them down first as you can get some blow down of soot/diesel from the funnel after certain weather conditions.

Service5 stars

Absolutely great on every department of the ship, it would be unfair to try and select just one person as outstanding as there is just so much attention to passenger requirements. I think its the one thing that would really make me want to come back to this ship the most. If the rest of the fleet come up to this standard P&O will have it bagged.

"Adonia - wonderful ship and wonderful cruise"

Overall rating:5 stars

This is the first time I have cruised with P & O and was most impressed with every aspect of this cruise, which visited Brest, San Sebastian, Bilbao and Honfleur.

Dining5 stars

We ate breakfast and lunch in the Conservatory restaurant and dinner each evening in the Pacific. The service in both was excellent and the staff were very helpful. My husband is on a special diet and the head waiter, Denis even arranged for special meals to be prepared for him. We were expecting to just be told what he couldn't eat.

Entertainment5 stars

The entertainment team fronted by Tracy Clegg were excellent and very enthusiastic, along with the Adonia Theatre Company.

Cabin5 stars

Our cabin was an obstructed view number C049 but wasn't actually obstructed at all. A full view of the sea could be had with just a little of the lifeboat visible to the side. Well worth having as the cabin was large with plenty of storage. I would suggest ladies with long hair bring their own hairdryer as the one provided was not powerful and sited in the...

Service5 stars

Outstanding. Every member of staff was always friendly and willing to help. Our cabin steward, Andrew was wonderful and our waiters Diego and Leeroy were perfect. On my first day, I watched an elderly lady getting her lunch on a tray in the Conservatory. Straight away, a waiter rushed up to help her and carry the tray. This was typical of the service we...
