"Penthouse in urgent need of a facelift"

Overall rating:4 stars

Had a great few days, but after splashing out for the best cabin it was not as good as hoped

Dining4 stars

Nothing to complain about but standard of food was not as good as recent cruises

Entertainment3 stars

Averge

Cabin3 stars

Lovely cabin, great butler. It was in urgent need of a spring clean and a facelift.

Service3 stars

Having always spoken very highly of the service and the attitude of the staff I think there is clear evidence now that this is slipping. This des not apply throughout as some staff are fantastic, but we experienced attitude issues in Andersons, poor service in Crows Nest and the dining room at a couple of breakfasts was verging on chaotic. This does seem to...

"An excellent cruise to Singapore. Sad we did not go to Bora Bora"

Overall rating:5 stars

Overall a very good cruise, due to problems we were unable to get to Bora Bora and other ports the timings were changed. But, overall my wife and I enjoyed the trip.

Dining5 stars

1st Sitting in Medina, Table 27. Food good and staff excellent.

Entertainment3 stars

Generally good but several acts were not to the standard of normal P&O cruises. Chief Entertainment Officer 'Michael' was excellent.

Cabin5 stars

A280, Steward was excellent.

Service4 stars

I must commend the staff in Reception for their interest in peoples problems and the prompt way in which problems were solved.

"World Cruise"

Overall rating:3 stars

Nice cruise, but the entertainment is rubbish, the Cruise Director is not popular and he is booed on stage and also treats the passengers like he is at Butlins. Jo B and Paul both excellent entertainment team, but the rest lack any personality. The Captain I found to be surly and 'up himself' whenever anyone dared to ask why we missed Bora Bora - a port I really wanted to visit. He failed to keep us fully informed on the failure of the propellor and bearing and only told us when it was too late to contact anyone at home or next port etc. The daily Horizon is full of errors and mistakes and nobody checks them before sending them out.

Dining3 stars

The standard of food has got worse since last year and only the cheapest cuts of meat are used. The servive however is great and waiters are friendly and polite. Room service guys were also great!

Entertainment1 stars

Sorry, I cannot rate the quality of entertaiinment low enough. The best entertainment has been the passengers with the choir and talent show! Some speakers are okay, but Mike Harvey has done all of this before and most of us are sick of hearing the repeats!

Cabin4 stars

The cabin is looking very tired but the steward does an excellent job in looking after us and the cabin.

Service4 stars

Overall, the service has been good, but the Reception Desk has some rude people working there. Likewise the Tours desk - great port presentations but the staff at the desk were also rude, especially the chunky northern Irish lady!

"Excellent service!!"

Overall rating:5 stars

Just returned from a sector of the Aurora World Cruise 1913 (San Francisco to Sydney) and I wanted to comment on the excellent service provided by P&O staff throughout our travels. From setting off from Manchester on the 29th January to arriving back on the 4th March we could not have asked for better treatment and courtesy. Every flight was on time and the service provided by P&O was much better than we have ever received before. From Staff at the different hotels, the transfers from airport and back mostly by private car were exceptional, and the service of all the staff from the Captain to the cleaners was exemplary. My wife and I always on returning from a cruise sit down and decide the bad parts and the best parts, on this occasion we could not list any bad and we felt that we could not rate anything else less than 5*****!! So thank you P&O for making our trip round the world (we visited our daughter in Thailand on the way home which was also booked by P&O) we had a wonderful time and we cannot wait to book our next cruise which we hope will be once again on the Aurora!! David and Susan O'Neill, Todmorden, West Yorkshire, England.

Dining5 stars

Excellent Service in the Medina Restaaurant. 5* food all the way. Cafe Bordeaux excellent even at lunch times.

Entertainment3 stars

One or two problems with shows but on the whole quite good.

Cabin5 stars

L119 and Cabin Steward Ana could not be faulted.

Service5 stars

Excellent Service and always with a smile, which means a lot to us!!

"Great first time cruise"

Overall rating:4 stars

Welcome onto the ship was pleasant, although our cabin wasn't set up correctly, this was quickly rectified by the steward. We had a great time exploring all the decks although they are not logical to get around, and having to go up to go across was a little confusing, we worked it out eventually, with the help of the maps on the deck areas. Our trip out to Bruges was lovely and we had a great time exploring all the little shops and chocolate places.

Dining2 stars

Despite there being an option to select dietary requirements, and the travel agent sending an email to yourselves, and receiving a reply, my diet requirements were not known on board. This is highly frustrating as I find it embarrassing enough having to explain, in front of other diners in the restaurant, that I am unable to eat a lot of the food on the...

Entertainment4 stars

We watched a movie, Marigold Hotel, very good. We watched a show on the first night, also very good. For some reason the show was cancelled on the second night because a theatre was out of use due to a technical fault. Subsequently every other entertainment area was jam packed. This did not detract from an enjoyable evening as the staff did everything...

Cabin4 stars

Beds were arranged as twin on arrival despite requesting a double room. The steward quickly rectified this, well done to him. Other than that the room was very comfortable, if a little dated.

Service4 stars

All staff were generally very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. It seems the communication between the office and the ship is a little lacking.
