Soar above the cityscape in a suspended hot air balloon – or explore Kronberg Castle, the original Elsinore in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Stockholm, spanning 14 separate islands and myriad small islets, is often described as the ‘Venice of the North’, while Tallinn offers a fascinating mix of architectural styles. You’ll then enjoy two full days exploring dramatic St Petersburg. Seek out Catherine the Great’s Palace with its breathtaking white, blue and gold facade, and gaze in awe at some of Europe’s greatest art in the Hermitage Museum.

To finish, you’ll take in the stunning architecture and luscious parks of Helsinki; Warnemunde, a former fishing village and one of the most popular resorts on the Baltic Sea; and romantic, medieval Bruges with its master chocolatiers and exquisite lace shops.
