Welcome to Norway and the charming 13th century Hanseatic city of Bergen. Built on the site of an original Viking settlement, this World Heritage site with its colourful timber buildings and lively fish market, has a long and fascinating history. The small village resort of Geiranger has changed very little since welcoming its first cruise ship in 1869. Surrounded by natural beauty, it’s a great prelude to an evening cruise through nine-mile Geirangerfjord – the most photographed of all Norway’s Fjords.

Peaceful Olden, at the southern end of one branch of the beautiful Nordfjord at the entrance to the gorgeous Oldedalen Valley, is next. Stravanger’s sea of white timber buildings provide your last views of Norway but before you leave be sure to visit its markets, craft stores, art galleries and 12th century cathedral.
