Caribbean

About the cruise

Fly to Barbados and join Oceana for a Caribbean extravaganza. Bonaire is one of the greatest snorkelling venues in the Caribbean. The names
of the main reefs – Angel City, Alice in Wonderland, Thousand Steps – are nearly as colourful as the iridescent tropical fish you will see there. The arid landscape of Aruba is the perfect backdrop for an nforgettable day ashore. Discover its rugged coastline, stunning beaches and
sunken wrecks.[/p]

Cristobal, at the Atlantic entrance of the Panama Canal, is your gateway to Colon. From here, relive the adventures of Captain Morgan at San Lorenzo Fort or see the amazing Gatun locks in action. Lush Limon on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast is characterised by prehistoric rainforests. Take an aerial tram through the forest, white water raft or laze on the Tortuguero canals. For many Grand Cayman is paradise, with its dazzling Seven-Mile Beach, opulent hotels and fantastic snorkelling.[/p]

Montego Bay – or ‘Mo’ Bay’ for short – is the most sophisticated resort in Jamaica. For an indolent day out, ride a raft down the Martha Brae River. Or go back in time to colonial houses such as the beautiful Greenwood, once home to poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Welcome to your own private paradise. Catalina Island is the ideal place to do nothing – nothing that is but sunbathe, swim, sip cocktails and enjoy a beach barbeque. Tortola is the largest and busiest of the idyllic British Virgin Islands, which means, of course, that it is small and incredibly relaxed. Do not miss the natural rock pools of the Baths at Virgin Gorda.[/p]

Dominica was so named because Columbus discovered the island on a Sunday. When he arrived it was populated by Carib Indians, and today around 3,000 Caribs still survive on Dominica, living a traditional life on a special reserve. At Morne Trois Pitons, watch the waterfall shimmer and foam. In Barbados the local motto is ‘no problem’. As you drive down country roads, bask on flawless beaches or take lunch at a resort hotel, you are bound to agree that life really can be very simple. From here you fly home overnight to the UK.[/p]
