About the cruise
In early winter as the temperatures start to plummet at home, why not cruise to the warmth of the Canary Islands and the culture-rich Iberian Peninsula?
You’ll visit three warm and wonderful Canary Islands: Tiny and not as well known as her bigger sisters, La Palma’s steep mountains are blanketed with green forests and she boasts one of the world’s largest volcanic craters. Gran Canaria has its cosmopolitan, historic and prosperous port city, Las Palmas. And Tenerife, the largest Canary Island of them all, is dominated by the volcanic Mount Teide.
There are also three spectacular Spanish ports of call: Surrounded almost entirely by water, Conquistador Cadiz is a charming and picturesque city. Vigo’s old fishing quarter, Ribera del Berbes, will transport you back to the hustle and bustle of the Middle Ages, with its ancient walls and towers. The ‘Crystal City’ of Corunna is a mixture of old and new, and home to the oldest working lighthouse in the world – Hercules’ Tower.
Portugal won’t be undone with its contribution to your cruise holiday – with offerings of its ‘Floating Garden Isle’, Madeira, and its lavishly historic capital, Lisbon, overflowing with imperial treasures and wealth.
