About the cruise
Aurora may be a seasoned world traveller, but she still has a passion for exploration. She exudes an air of authenticity while boasting the modern facilities of 21st century travel. Excitement heightens in her Crow’s Nest as Sydney’s Harbour Bridge appears on the horizon. The shadows of the Golden Gate Bridge dance across her broad open decks. Menus created by Marco Pierre White are poured over while sailing through the Panama Canal.
Aurora’s South America and Pacific Grand Voyage 2011 captures the very essence of this spectacular part of the world; lush rainforests, expansive beaches, colonial cities, colourful cultures, snow capped mountains, crystal clear lakes and vast glaciers. 24 of her 95 nights will be spent in South America – a total of 9 ports including two days in Buenos Aires and an evening in both Rio de Janeiro and Valparaiso. Visiting Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, there really is the opportunity to appreciate the true diversity of this region’s coast.
In contrast to the colourfully eclectic experiences of South America, the serene islands of the Pacific beckon. Straight from the pages of glossy travel magazines, the brilliant white sands and turquoise lagoons are undeniably enticing. From here, Aurora’s world voyage visits the iconic cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland. Having already seen so much, it’s hard to believe that the majestic sights are still far from over. For some, the best may still be to come - a once in a lifetime sailing under San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Acapulco Harbour, an unforgettable Panama Canal transit and the tropical islands of the Caribbean Sea. With such a variety of ports on Aurora’s 2011 itinerary, it promises to be a very grand voyage indeed.
