Obvious attractions include the Doge’s Palace, the Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s with its adjoining square and gondola rides. Welcome to Split next, in the heart of the province of Dalmatia. Stroll its historic Old Town for a fascinating insight into days gone by. From the ruins of the Roman palace of Diocletian to its museums, galleries and cathedral, you will be captivated. Corfu is the greenest and lushest of the Greek islands. Kanoni and Paleokastritsa have wonderful beaches and warm clear seas, the Achilleion is a lavish palace, and the white church by Mouse Island is amazingly photogenic.

Malta is an island with a rich heritage of archaeology, history, architecture, art and culture. The capital, Valletta, is a civilised harbour city dating back to the 16th century and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Palma is a cosmopolitan and sophisticated city that is situated along a magnificent bay. At the harbourside, a sweeping promenade leads past marinas, crammed with expensive yachts, to the magnificent Gothic cathedral. High above, stately Bellver Castle guards Palma as it has for centuries. In between, you’ll find a cornucopia of superb shops, authentic tapas bars, shady squares and fountain-ornamented gardens. Enjoy the splendours of Aurora for the last few days, before you sail into Southampton on Wednesday 15 October.
