About the cruise
Those longing to capture the essence of classic world voyages need look no further than Oriana. Picture a transatlantic crossing; deck quoits mid morning, an elegant afternoon tea and a moonlit stroll before bed. A morning coffee before stepping ashore in Hong Kong? Savour a freshly brewed pot under the atrium’s ornate Tiffany glass ceiling. Imagine a transit of the Suez Canal; reclining in the shade on a teak promenade deck, iced tea in hand, while sailing through the heart of the Egyptian desert.
Retaining these traditional charms, Oriana has also seamlessly adapted to the modern trends of today’s traveller. Her cinema, sports bar, cyb@study and show lounges share space with traditional bars, a two tier theatre and sweeping Crow’s Nest. A ship of many guises, she’s an entertainer and gastronome - Oriana plays host to Gary Rhodes’ Oriana Rhodes restaurant. She’ll pamper and indulge, offering quiet spaces and colourful party venues. But above all, she’s the consummate hostess.
In 2010 Oriana will embark on her 14th world voyage. Steering a course west, she will return to many well loved ports during her 84 night journey, including Acapulco, San Francisco, Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mumbai.
Toes will be tempted into soft Hawaiian sand and gazes drawn to the majestic man-made wonders of the Panama Canal and Golden Gate Bridge. Ornate oriental temples and spectacular city skylines will vie for the camera’s attention. Memories of arriving in Sydney Harbour and diving into the Great Barrier Reef will shout to be shared. And there’ll be unexpected moments, from every single magnificent port, to be treasured forever.
