About the cruise
Lisbon is one of the least well known, but certainly one of the loveliest of European capitals. Head for the Alfama district with its maze of cobbled lanes and stroll the Avenida da Liberdade, the widest street on earth.
Filled with history, mythology and culture, Athens has something for everyone. Browse the city’s bazaars, sample the wares in the Athinás Food Halls or explore the ruins of the mighty temple of Zeus. The skyline of Istanbul is an unforgettable silhouette of minarets, domes and towers. While here, why not have lunch in Europe and dinner in Asia? You can’t do so in any other city.
Yalta was the site of the historic conference where Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill planned the shape of the post-war world. Today, you can enjoy the atmosphere at the Swallow’s Nest Castle or visit the Nikitsky Botanical Gardens.
Odessa has 192 bloody and famous treads of the Potemkin Steps. Less famous, but equally memorable, are the architectural treasures and glazed shopping gallerias. And the Opera House here is lavish! Then unwind in sophisticated Palma, with its atmospheric tapas bars and yacht-filled harbour, before returning to Southampton.
