Heading inland along the Aurland River, well known for salmon fishing, this panoramic extravaganza then takes you alongside the Vassbygda Lake to Vassbygda. The coach ascends the Låvisdal Valley by a series of bends, partly through tunnels. En route you can enjoy beautiful views over the Vassbygda and Aurland villages. The drive continues further upwards to Stonndalen, a beautiful, western Norwegian valley.

The Aurland Valley is rich in flora and fauna and the drive takes you as far as Østerbø, a mountain farm which, in former times, was completely isolated from the outside world during the winter months. It is now a popular spot for people hiking in the mountains.

There will be time to enjoy beautiful mountain views at Østerbø as you relax during a coffee break and enjoy a traditional Norwegian waffle.

This delightful tour will show you some of Norway’s best scenery.
Leaving Flåm behind, you’ll head off through the mountains to Gudvangen. Gudvangen is situated at the head of the spectacular Nærøyfjord, another branch of the mighty Sognefjord, and as you continue up the Nærøy Valley you’ll be following the well-known salmon river of the same name and passing by Glashamaren. You’ll see how the road winds its way up the mountainside, and this road will be taken either up or down. The road has 13 hairpin bends with a descent of 1 in 5. This is Norway's steepest road. On both sides waterfalls plunge down to the right the Stalheim-Fall and on the left the Sivle-Fall.

Pass the beautiful Oppheim Lake and then head through woodland and green farmland to view the spectacular Tvinde Waterfall that cascades down the mountainside. After a short stroll to the Waterfall, you’ll return to Stalheim Hotel, perched on a cliff overlooking the Nærøy Valley, for refreshments.

Your tour then heads downhill to the valley floor once more. Having reached the valley floor, you’ll follow the Nærøy-River back to Gudvangen and then through the tunnels to Flåm.

Discover what lies in and around the idyllic village of Flåm.
Flåm is home to the famous railway, which connects the fjord region with the Bergen-line, the main railroad leading from Oslo to Bergen. When building the line, a road was constructed through Flåm Valley to transport materials. It is on one of these roads that you will be walking on the tour. You’ll encounter hardly any traffic, apart from the odd car or a group of cyclists!

The first part of the walk takes you along Flåm River, a well-known salmon river, and past several small farms where they cultivate fruit. Impressive waterfalls tumble down the mountainsides, including the Rjoandefoss Waterfall at a height of 390m.

Approximately 3km from Flåm you’ll find Flåm Church, a timber church erected in 1667, able to seat 150 people. Take a look at the church from the outside, and, if it is open, its attractive decorations inside. Your return to Flåm follows the same route, giving you the opportunity once more to enjoy the fresh, clean air and the beauty of the scenery.
