Charming Villages

Uncover the villages of Teror and Arucas, surrounded by hills and the focus of the spiritual heart of the island.

With red-tiled, whitewashed houses, ornately carved balconies and charming patios hidden behind large wooden doors, Teror is considered by many to be the prettiest place on Gran Canaria. Free time here will allow you to shop for souvenirs and admire the architecture. You will also visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pine, the patron saint of Gran Canaria.

Under the majestic Church of San Juan Bautista, sometimes mistakenly referred to as a cathedral, this northern city has streets filled with great historical and architectural value. With steep walkways, Arucas is the second city of the island and its idyllic setting is created by the dazzling brightness of its white houses, which are in sharp contrast with the dark profile of its turreted church. (Entrance is not included).

There are numerous landscaped parks and gardens in the city of Arucas, though undoubtedly the one most worth seeing is ‘The Marquesa's Garden’, with its extensive collection of Canarian and tropical plants. At this beautiful setting, you’ll have some time to relax and enjoy a banana liqueur.
