Visit the capital city, Washington DC and Philadelphia, the birthplace of the nation.
DAY 1

From the first penny to the First Amendment, Philadelphia led the nation. Your guide will host you on a walking tour to the newly overhauled Independence National Historical Park. The 2,000 pound bell, cast in England to proclaim ‘liberty throughout the land’, as the Declaration of Independence was read aloud to the citizens. The Liberty Bell is housed in a new 13,000-square-foot glass pavilion angled so you can see it against the backdrop of Independence Hall. You’ll also visit (external views only) Betsy Ross house where 3 members of a secret committee from the Continental Congress, George Washington, Robert Morris, and George Ross came in May 1776 to ask her to sew the 1st flag. Following lunch in a restaurant in Old Town Philadelphia, you’ll continue your journey to Washington DC.
