    Visit the Miraflores Visitors Pavilion, located at the last set of locks a ship must transit before entering the Pacific Ocean, or the first en route to the Atlantic. This tour will give you an opportunity to observe the Miraflores Locks in night-time operation. You'll be shown a brief film about the Panama Canal and observe the impressive scale model. Your guide will explain the process of a vessel transit, and, during your time here, you may even see one pass through under the floodlights.

    At the Visitors Pavilion, you’ll have time to see the Exhibition Centre on the east side of the Miraflores. The exhibitions include historical Canal artefacts, interactive modules and video presentations. You’ll see 4 exhibition halls, organised by themes such as Canal History, Water - Source of Life, The Canal in Action and The Canal of the World.

    Take in the sights of Panama City, from its towering skyscrapers to the historical colonial city. Travel to Old Panama, founded on 15 August, 1519 by Pedro Arias Davila. Panama became a terminal for the only route between the two oceans and a vital communication link between Spain and its colonies in the Pacific. The city was destroyed by fire, but ruins of the cathedral, the bishop’s house and many other structures still remain. Enjoy a guided walk amongst these impressive illuminated ruins.

    Travel along the famous Balboa Avenue through Panama’s financial district en route to Casco Antiguo – Colonial Panama. It is here that the city was rebuilt in 1673 after the original settlements were destroyed. Your guide will describe the history and architecture of this beautiful place, that is a blend of Spanish, French and Italian styles.
