About the cruise
For the first time in nearly forty years P&O Cruises returns to Alaska, the 'last frontier', but this is a journey unlike any other. Discover an itinerary as unique as it is epic, sailing direct from Southampton in April 2011.
As you step on board Arcadia, you do so in the knowledge that you're embarking on a voyage never previously undertaken. You're destined for the great wilderness that is Alaska on a journey that begins and ends on the shores of the United Kingdom.
Home to half of the world's glaciers Alaska's scenery is simply spectacular. You'll encounter sheer granite cliffs, plunging 1,000 foot waterfalls and an array of calving glaciers. The opportunity to witness wildlife in its natural habitat is incomparable, with bald eagles, bears, moose, sea lions, porpoises and whales on the 'must see' list.
This journey doesn't just present the splendours of Alaska, it also takes you to some of the great iconic American cities like New York, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. You will also call into the Pacific Northwest's Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver and island hop your way through the tropical islands of the Caribbean. There are two journeys through the Panama Canal and you can visit world famous resorts like Mexico's lively Acapulco.
Arcadia's indulgent and stylish surroundings will provide the perfect accompaniment to the immense sights that you will see, with a luxurious spa, a boutique cinema and exceptional fine dining courtesy of esteemed British chef, Gary Rhodes. There will be plenty of time to unwind and enjoy the relaxed pace of sea travel and there's no better place to do just that, and to witness the spectacular scenery, than around the Aquarius Pool, which features chic new cabanas and comfortable wicker furniture.
The inspiring scenery, famous landmarks and memorable experiences you will be a part of, both on board and ashore, will ensure Arcadia's Grand Alaska Adventure is a journey to remember.
