| Hi, I am a single lady in late 50's who loves to dance, especially ballroom dancing. Is there a single gent out there going on Aurora R904 i.e. dept Southampton 18th may who also likes to dance. Have been on cruises before and not found anyone to dance with until near the end of the cruise. Thank you Lassie

Hi Lassie,
Our first cruise was on Ventura 908. There was ballroom dancing in the Tamarind club some nights and they actually had some lessons on some days, which we didn't attend
We did go to the ballroom dancing in the evening though and there were some extremely good dancers. I am totally out of practice and my husband can do a waltz / quickstep, so so. However, I was sitting with my husband and one of the entertainment crew asked me for a cha cha cha. He was very nice about me standing on his toes now and then.
I am no youngster, in my early 60's. I also saw him dancing with other ladies my age and older so you should get a dance, even if no-one replies to your blog.
Good Luck and enjoy,
Carole

Lassie - you need to go to the first Travelling Alone meeting. There you get to meet the entertainment officers. If they know you like to dance they will partner you if they are available.

| hi Lassie, Sorry not on that Cruise; Fine at all the Ballroom and Latin dances except my Foxtrot which is Novice to say the least - travelling on Oceana R917 (Taking my lovely mother on a well deserved rest). If any dancing ladies out there! I'll try the singles club as suggested and see if any of the entertainment crew are up to it (the girls!). Trouble with that is they dont like to attend the dances and partner passengers for an evening. Normally the dance instructors are around to partner singles; so attend the lessons and get to know them. John

| Lassie, I agree, go to the lessons. I went to one on a recent Arcadia cruise and there were nearly 100 people there. The dance instructors found you partners if required and also you met other people you kept bumping into at the evening dances. Cap'n Bob

| I know on our recent Oriana cruise the CD was in Harlequins almost every night along with at least one member of the entertainment staff to dance with single ladies...the dance instructors on that cruise, Paul & Jean, also danced with single ladies. I will also say we had a lovely gay guy who danced every night, so the ladies were very lucky on that cruise. The dance lessons were great fun and we got to meet some lovely people who we have stayed in touch with. Enjoy your cruise.
