| Hi, This is my first cruise and we have opted for a table for 2 and booked the day the brochure came out. How likely are we to get the table for 2. We are booked on the Ventura.

| we have booked 7 out of 9 on day of booking for table for two 1st sitting on 4 different po ships and were lucky on all 7 occasions we missed out last year on a 7 day to Dublin but was an extra so we were on a table for 6 which worked out fine so your chances could be good i always check with po that the request has been noted so that i get the best chance good luck

| There is quite a high provision of 'tables for 2' on Ventura compared with other ships in the fleet. It should be borne in mind, though, that the 'tables for 2' are quite close to each other with one half of the party sitting on a shared banquette. Quiet conversation of a 'bedroom' nature may have to be saved until you get back to the cabin!

| I can vouch for what Derek says about the proximity of the tables. We were able to exchange pleasantries with couples either side while at the same time respecting each others' privacy - it worked well. However, I would agree that the sweet nothings would be better left until bed-time!! Michele

| Much more fun to have a table for six or eight. On our first cruise I thought I didn't want to share a table, however no singles were available. Lucky for us we shared a table with delightful people, all those at single tables looked quite sad. Now we always ask for a table of six or eight. Chris

I agree with michele. other than our 1st cruise which we had a table for 8, we always ask for a table for 2. you can have your own conversation, yet the tables are close enough to others and you always make friends either side. its not that we are antisocial, quite the opposite! we are both not big eaters and usually only have 2 courses then go to the bar. on a table for 8 you can expect to be in the dining room 2 hours + which is fine if thats what you like, for us it was too long

| We find that although some people go for the table for two, going on a bigger table is quite sociable & usually is one of the highlights of the day to chat about the day's events with new friends.

We normally go on a cruise with extended family occupying tables of 6 - 8 however on our recent Oceana cruise myself and my Hubby went alone and requested a table for two, on the first night we were allocated to a table of eight however our visit to the restaurant manager secured us a table for two by the second night. So it is well worth visiting the manager if your allocation is not what you requested as people do move around after the first night.
