| I agree with brillo. Fancy going all the way to the Caribbean and only wandering around the ports. You might as well stay in Southampton. Every island is individual and offers something new. Get yourself on a tour (P&O is best)and really see what the places are about.

| I think it totaly depends an your own personal view point, Brillo states that St Lucia was one of his personal favourites, having just returned from N925 i have to say that i was very disapointed in St Lucia, especially as it was the one island that i was really looking forward to seeing as it had been a long term dream destination for myself and my wife. We booked a tour and went around the island, saw the waterfalls, drove into the volcano and went to many other places. However I have to say it was very disapointing. As far as places to avoid I would say St Thomas and this is purely because of the paranoia of the US Border guards and the system employed whereby every member of the crew and every passenger must be seen irrespective of whether they intend to leave the ship at this destination or not.

| I agree with Ian, it's down to one's own perceptions of a place and whether it actually pushes any buttons for you. In the past I have been to places I thought not much of and then spoken to people who thought it wonderful. On the other hand been to some I thought brilliant and said to friends " you must go there" only for them to return disappointed. Same applies to any restaurants I recommend. so needless to say I no longer make recommendations... may just be me that has bad taste, haha. However have taken note of everyones comments for 1st ever cruise a week today . regards to all alan

| Some ports are interesting in their own right and some are gateways to something. But if pushed on my least favourite destinations then I would say St Peter Port, Guernsey and Arrecife,(spelling?) Lanzarote. They still beat being at home on a cold damp November afternoon though!!

| Matt: I have never been taken to Brest although I hope one day to visit it's twin town in the USA, Boob's Canyon, Utah. (Note from Administrator: That's enough innuendo. Please try to concentrate on matters cruising)
