As we have only done Gatwick once, its usually Birmingham, cant anyone suggest best hotel for Gatwick, North Terminal, also parking.

As I have mentioned in a previous reply, we have the problem of 2 hotels i e-mailed do not do packages for over 15 days, apart from the odd one day.  We need 28 days as doing the back-to-back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you June

Try holiday extras we got 21 days parking and the hotel for less than £100.  You can pay for extra days direct to the hotel.  This package was cheaper than paying to park at Gatwick airport.

I have looked on the 'Little foxes' site, and have sent them a query.  Are you going on the 9th January like us?

They will keep our car for a month, the normal rate, plus £20 for the second fortnight, which I thought was good.  As it looks a small place, it wont be so impersonal and hectic like the larger hotels, so I think we might consider this one.

We were going to book the car park at the north terminal for the month, and then book the Sofitel on the airport for the night.  But there are works being carried out at the north terminal anyway.  I am just waiting to hear back from them.  June

I spoke to them on the phone and the woman seemed very chatty.  She asked where we were going and when I said a cruise on the Amazon she got very excited and said she'd never had that before, but she'd just had a party go who had arranged a visit to Peru themselves with donkeys and their own guides ...  We must have spent about quarter of an hour arranging the booking.

We will be there the night before we sail, but as we probably won't take time off work, I doubt if we will arrive much before 9pm.

Regards,

Dave McG

Little Foxes seemed very helpful when I e-mailed them.  Hopefully, I would have retired before my holiday.  I am thinking of doing it 4th January.  Got to do it one day I suppose.

We would most probably go up either after lunch so that we miss the works traffic, or evening after the traffic.  Most prob the earlier.  Apparently they have a sister hotel and they transfer you free of charge to the hotel if you want to go for an evening meal.  Also it would be continental breakfast because of it being so early.

Cant wait now, 20 weeks,  June

Hi June.

We stopped at the Sofitel Gatwick.

It was a very nice start to our holiday and it was right next to the airport.

It was a tad expensive though.

Paul & Lyn

I like The Gatwick Manor, its a Premier Travel Inn but they have a good pub restaurant which is inexpensive and a shuttle service. All you need on a budget.

I asked this some time ago & I can't recall which was which, & we aren't sure which terminal, but apparently Hilton is ajoining one terminal & another hotel the other.  Just walking distance from check in I am told. We intend to taxi up there, you really don't want to be driving back home after a long haul flight..really you don't.
