| I think you would be better as a family unit in freedom & as i said earlier you could try the buffet for a change. Ask P&O, rather than wait they may be able to help, they may say do it on board but at least you know.

| DLW46, If you booked with a TA then you should contact them and ask to be switched to Freedom Dining and that should be fairly straightforward. If you booked with P&O then give them a call and ask them to change it - again, it shouldn't be a problem. I have found Freedom Dining to be ideal for me when I have been on Oceana - sadly (FMPOV) it isn't available across the whole fleet. Feebee_71

| Go for freedom dining, you will not be stuck with boring old f**** who do not tolerate children, there are I'm afraid quite a few on P&O. We have seen children in the restaurants of 3 -4 and would loved to have been on the same table.

| Able.S...the OP most graciously & out of consideration for fellow diners asked what the best option was, & despite my usual reservations about very young children at formal dinners, her child sounds better company that you.

| Hi DLW. I took my 2 year old boy on a 14 night cruise and went 9 nights to the first sitting with him. We were on a table for 8 and were sat with two other couples both in their sixties. I am glad to say we and they had a great time with my boy and were in now way old farts. The staff made a great positive fuss as well. As to a booster seat we have a seat that we bought from mothercare which folds up into a small backpack. It can br attached to any chair and has securirt straps to stop the child falling out. It was quite cheap. JTD My view is that out of consideration for all diners old farts should realise that they were once kids and that they are also fare paying so deserve the use of all the facilities as well. There are a number of adult only ships if they/you wish to see no children! Perhaps if you did not formal dine then the children would not bother you?

| I refer you to the OP who did not wish to spoil the enjoyment of others by realising her children may not fit in with the formal dining arrangements & also that they may not want to sit there for 2 hours being told to sit still. Manners are based on consideration for others above personal considerations.

JTD, With respect. I refer you to the OP who only asked if a table of 4 would be better. There was no mention in regard to the formality, the length of time a meal may or may not take or if an alternative dinning arrangement may suit better. These ideas were indeed thrust upon the post by you and perhaps reflect your distaste for children on cruises?! You may also wish to note that the OP is male not female. Manners also include getting your facts straight and not perverting conversation to suit ones own argument. Agree JTD?

Unless you choose an adult only ship you should expect children to be around at meal times in any restaurant. We look forward to seeing them and in our opinion are usually better table companions than a lot of the oldies!

Little ones in the dining room will have a wonderful time..The waiters will make a fuss of them and fellow diners will sloil them..I suppose you might find a snooty old fart that will not approve but I've never seen one...She'll love it and is as much entitled to sit at the table as anybody else.
