It is all personal taste, what do you like doing adventure or scenic? Looks like your ports are

Aruba - good for an island tour (P&O or ind) and a bit of shopping

Limon - There is a great trip that has a train ride anda visit to Toruguero canals

Colon - we didn't leave the dockside markets when we were here

Curacao - Hato caves is worth a visit

Tortola - Pussers landing (can be done independently)

St Martin - Shopping trip (but I want to see Maho beach next time I am there)

St Vincent - the see & sea trip is excellent

Tobago - not been there yet (but will be at Christmas)

Grenada - Grand Etang is worth a visit (can be done independently)

Hi,

We are booked on same cruise (1st timers), and, have also booked on train and canal trip.

In Colon we have booked the Embera Indian Village Trip (have read good reports on Crows Nest Forums). The village is Errebache, and, if you google Embera Village Errebache you should find their website along with photos, and, a short video. It's certainly different!!!

Lets hope we all have a ball,

Anne & Jim

If I was doing this Itinary this is what I would do....

Aruba- Taxi to Palm Beach [$4.00 each] then back into town for a water side bar and a look around the shops.

Limon- Ships tour

Colon-ships tour

Curacao- An independant Island tour and then a sroll around the shops and a drink in the water front bars [next to the moving walk bridge]

Tortola-Taxi to Cane garden beach and a stop at Pussers landing on the way back.

St Martin- Shops shops shops or a taxi over to the French side.

St Vincent- Independant island tour of the fort, botanical gardens and Pirates of the caribbean film set [$20 each approx]

Tobago- Taxi to the beach

Grenada-Independant Island tour and then Mourne rouge beach PM .

Having done fourteen caribbean cruises I would never book ships tours for the caribbean islands. However South America is different and I would there should I ever revisit that area.

I think independant tours offer good value for money and you can go when it suits rather than pre arranged ships tours.

........Next cruise Celebrity Summit..

It's interesting to read that you can do the Embarar Indian village from Colon ... we did that from Fuerto Amador (the other side of the canal). To us that was a highlight of our last cruise .. really enjoyable.

Alan, if this is your first cruise you have picked a great itinerary. I put a bet on you will not be long booking your second.
