Just used LV again.  £28 for a week for two adults and a child.  One pre existing condition which doesn't attract a loading.  All areas of cover are better than P&O, apart from cancellation which has a limit, but this limit more than covers the cost.

Done.

Went with M&S (got buildings and contents with them). £61 with 20% on line discount - for annual cover. It seems to cover more than the £180 single trip cover offered through P&O...

Us lot get it 'free' (£120 a year) plus other goodies from our bank. They use Fortis.

I used to get it with LloydsTSB - but of the £180 a year the 'bank' cost me, the only goody really was the travel insurance. The rest it was covered elsewhere...

Free travel insurance, free mobile phone insurance, free AA breakdown cover, free home emergency cover, free Sentinel card cover, free identity theft cover, all with our bank account, and FREE.

You can pay a monthly premium for the above, it may seem a lot, but tot up ALL those benefits and even if you have to pay, it might work out less expensive than individual cover for all of them.

Following an interview with Which? on radio the other day about bank travel insurance I offer a word of advice for anyone who uses travel insurance provided by your bank. Before relying on it get the latest policy wording from your provider - some of these insurances change a number of times over the year. One exclusion which has crept in is cruising and the medical condition clauses have been tightened, as have activities covered and not covered.

Also check your responsibilities - many policies now require the policyholder to inform the insurer before they leave. Some insurers will run through the cover and you MAY have to pay a supplement depending on where you are going etc. Not informing your insurer voids the policy.

In general Which? thought any bank account extras which are charged for are generally not worth the money.
