| Sorry, the last post was very short so that you all know I am still on here. Been reading through the threads that have been put on since I was last on here. Thought I was never going to get through them. And I only read a few!!!!! Didn't agree with the political argument. Politics are one subject I won't argue about and the second is religion. Otherwise I don't mind other subjects. Mavis x

| Saturday, Colin decided he was going to sort out the ramp himself!!!!!! In spite of us managing to stop him messing about with it on Friday, he couldn't be stopped on Saturday. Spent all day trying to get the ramp lower so that the door would open properly. After all day, he hadn't done much good but, it kept him occupied,,,,,,,,,,,,, Mavis x

| Today, while I have been at the Day Centre, he has had the ramp up completely, sawed quite a lot off it, after being told to rest by Carol. Anyway, when I got home there was no ramp down at all and it was a very big drop down for my chair as I managed to get indoors. Tonight he has put the ramp back in place and has said that it makes it better for the door to open and he is going to fasten it down and re-carpet it tomorrow, himself!!!! He won't wait for somebody coming to look at it. Now I am wondering if it might collapse when I try to drive over it!!!! No, that's not nice as I know he is just trying his best just now. It gets him frustrated a he used to be able to set about and do any job that needed doing. Now it takes him a couple of days to sort out something that would have taken him about half and hour before and he used to make a really good job of things as well. Oh well, we will see tomorrow how far he gets with it. Mavis x

| David picked us up yesterday morning at 9am in his shop van. It is so easy to get into it using the ramps. Not quite as easy as ours with the ramp etc but it works fine. He uses his van if he thinks we might need extra room........ With both him and Colin going shopping....... First, of course, we went to Cash & Carry in Hull before going into the town centre. Got parked fine with no problem. We had thought it might be a job but it wasn't as busy as we expected. We did lose Colin once. David was piled up with shopping, and Colin was looking at trousers, but not too keenly so we told him we were going to the checkout to pay for what we already had. We were both piled up by then. We pointed to where the nearest checkout was for him to know where we were and we told him not to move unless he came to us. David and I paid for our respective shopping. David picked up all the full bags and we couldn't see Colin anywhere. We were on the 2nd floor of BHS and hunted there so I said he maybe thought we were going to the checkout desk downstairs. So, we went down, he wasn't there either. In the end, David suggested that he left me in the shop doorway with all the parcels and he would have a good look all round again for Colin. Guess where he was??????? Stood by the door as he hadn't been sure where we had gone so had really been quite sensible and gone to the door and stayed there. David then took that load of shopping to the van before going round more shops. Mavis x

| Good evening darling Drink Red Bull, then you can fly over the ramp! Only here a few minutes, have to be at work for 7.30am, as hopalong is still not fully fit.He had his stitches out today, and the nurse was more informative re care than the doctor! You know your door, I am having a similar problem with a concrete mixer! Bought one from B&Q last Wednesday, assembled it on Saturday, and a wheel bush was missing, went to B&Q, sold out, contact the hot line for a replacement. Rang Hotline this am, part number not on database, can't help, contact your local store! I think its a Coldline, will go to B&Q later in the week, I can use the mixer without the bush. Did you buy much? HC x

| After another trip to the van, we went into the big shopping centre, Princes Quays. Got a few bags yet again, but kept having to wait for Colin to catch up with us so, we deposited him on a seat, told him to stay there, don't move, keep an eye on the shopping and don't fall asleep!!!!! Sounds awful like that, doesn't it??? Anyway, it meant David and I could get round much quicker and better. David almost bought a bracelet £175 for Mandy (as a stocking filler!!!!!!!) , I suggested that he tried it on my wrist first as Mandy & I both have wrists that are not too tiny ........ Good job I did. It wouldn't meet by a long way. Mavis x

| Good evening Darling/ Hope you and HOYS are well. You sound as though you have had a right weekend. After we decided to go back and collect Colin from the seat we had left him on, we were surprised he was still there complete with a collection of shopping bags. So, we went back to the van yet again, filled it up a bit more and got Colin to agree to have a sleep on the back seat while David & I finished going round for the last half hour or so that the shops were open. Mandy & the rest of the family had been at a family kiddies birthday party. She rung to say she was a bit bored. I think David maybe even bought more than we did. We did do quite well with Christmas shopping as well. Whilst in BHS we had gone for a cuppa and toasted teacake. Not enough time to stop and have a full meal while the shops were open.... Anyway, David rung Mandy and said he had decided that we were going out for a meal before going back to Driffield. Poor Mandy missed out altogether, Mavis x

| We went to the Hayride, that is between Beverley and Driffield. We have been there a few times before but there was a sign outside saying they were closed due to a kitchen fire and may be open on Monday. So, we went back to a Toby Inn at Willerby and had a lovely Carvery there. It is a lovely place this one, always full. We have tried a few times before to get in but always told there is at least half an hour wait and you can't expect the little ones to wait all that time as there isn't a play area. There was a long wait, 40 minutes, but it was nice to just relax with Harvey and Winnie while we waited to be called for our table. The meal was lovely and we got to Driffield after 7 pm!!!!!! After sitting and watching some TV, David decided that maybe I should bring all his work home with me to do as he was too tired to concentrate!!!! So, my laptop went there for nothing but it had been a lovely day. It was so nice to have a day with just David. He does look after his dad well. Mavis x
