We are going on the Ventura on 10th April 2010 which is after school's Easter holiday, can we expect a lot of children on the cruise and if so are they in the areas the adults frequent.

Hi Les

Our kids don't go back to school until the 19th April, so you may find that there will still be a lot of children around.

I would not expect that there will be a great number of children on board at that time but I can probably guarantee that there will be some. About a month before you go you can email P&O and they will be able to tell you how many children will be on board and into which age categories they fall.

As to whether they will be in the adult areas is impossible to say but my guess is that there will probably be some.

The only comment I can add to this topic is a warning that Easter holidays are not necessarily uniform across the country. So, just because holidays in your area are finished other areas may have just started theirs so you may have a large number of children on any cruise around Easter time even if your area are back at school.

Easter is one of the most flexible school holidays. 2 or 3 weeks starting at different times. It's also the time when GCSE and A level children stop doing formal lessons so parents may be more willing to take them away.

The only area children aren't permitted is the casino.

Even better if children were banned on all ships outside school holidays ;-)

Notwithstanding the bringing of children on cruises (5-16) during term time, a ban on children in lounges and bars from various times in the evening is imposed to varying degrees on different ships, depending on the time of year.

On Ventura recently 2 children were very promptly removed by the spa manager for being in the adult only pool.
