| Hello, Thinking of doing the excursion to the ice bar on j921, but was wondering if anyone has been befoer and can remember what the coat and gloves are made out of, as we choose not to wear fur, leather or wool. Not meaning to start another moral debate - just would appreciate the advice! Thanks, Amy

| Tivoli Gardens is also worth a look (especially at night) but we did not go to the ice bar. Copenhagen is very easy to get around also, good transport and the walking is very good also. People will tell you it is expensive but it is in line with London and other capital cities.

| Good morning Amy, I've been to the Ice Bar and really enjoyed it, and yes it was really really cold, if you stood still for too long you could feel your feet sticking to the floor! The cloaks are made out of a thick waterproof covering, there is a double lining which I would guess to be a woven wool mixture, it's very heavy, the lining on the hood I'm not sure if it's real fur of faux, I hoped it was faux as I'm against using the real thing, but in truth I don't know. The mittens are made of the same thing. I hope that helps. If you choose not to go to the Ice Bar there are lots of places to see in Copehagen, the Little Mermaid is within easy walking distance of where the ship docks, it's nice to go for a wander round and soak up the atmosphere. Enjoy whatever you chose! Happy cruising!
Best wishes, Christine Next cruise X917 Oriana Sept 09 to the Caribbean

| [quote] .... the Little Mermaid is within easy walking distance of where the ship docks .... It is at the moment but I'm sure it was reported that it was going to be moved to ..... Japan perhaps ? As stated elsewhere there is lots and lots to see in Copenhagen. My advice is to buy a Thomas Cook CitySpot book, make choices and then do as much as you can - by foot so lots of healthy exercise and a coffee of course in the Nyhavn canalside district.

| Just a warning about the Little Mermaid. Yes, it within walking distance if you dock nearby but there is another dock that P&O use which is a long way from the Mermaid |(and everything else), so check with P&O which dock they are using.
