Had a lovely day out with David yesterday.  Only going round wholesalers with him in Manchester and Bradford but it was a nice change.  No work, well, a little maybe - listing his mark-up prices as he was picking what he was getting.  The van was chocka full.  One of the places he went to in Manchester he wouldn't let me go in with him and he locked me in the van.  It was a bit of a dive area but he had found it by chance a few months ago and finds he can get some good toys at some bargain prices.  He completely filled the boot part of the van from there while the other wholesalers in Manchester were palleting up his orders.  By the time we were on the way home after Bradford he couldn't see, only using his side mirrors.  The van was really full.  He did get some good toys though and some he wasn't too sure about he only got a few and said he would probably be going back in a couple of weeks time again if they sold well and that would be his last time for a couple of months or so.

I had got some bits for fundraising at the Day Centre as well - diaries, calendars etc.  and have been trying to go through them today, but Colin keeps telling me not to put stuff all over so I gave up in the end, have done Davids last weeks accounts and will have a go tomorrow to price up what I got yesterday.  I think Colin has been having a bit of a tired feeling day.  So, we let him have a good sleep instead of doing much.  Then we have been looking at Carol's photos from her holiday in South Africa.  She brought them on a memory stick so I could use my laptop to see them better.

After looking at Carol's photos I put up some of the photos of places we are going again next May to get Colin's mind thinking about them again.  He did keep saying how much Barcelona had been the best place of any he had been to so I showed him lots of the photos I took there.   We are trying to get him a bit interested without telling him until he maybe says he would like to go or somebody lets the cat out of the bag.  Now, Christmas will be the time as I know the kids will be saying this is for the cruise.  That is for the cruise etc etc.....   I might have to tell him just before we go to Davids at Christmas.  Don't want him to have a shock in front of the grand children.........

I'm just teaching Mel to do my job, she is picking it up quite well. You will have to teach David how to do your accounts! He did email me while you were ill last year, so he can do it!

Well, the forecast is better for tomorrow, don't want a very cold spell before Christams!

No hopalong was getting the nursery painted, waing for the furniture to arrive from Harrrods. (Well, B&Q)

He the cooked us tea, home made onion soup, turkey and trimmings and a homemade triffle, and HOYS and I drank a bottle of wine. On Thursday the family are around for fireworks, as we have the biggest garden!

Mels husband is 40 on Sunday, we are having the girls whilst they go out to celebrate. HOYS and the girls are making the cake, should be interesting, think I will hide in the office!

Darling:  I suppose it is a bit like when I used to do the driving.  I taught Colin to drive using an ex-ambulance I had bought for use at the Nursery.  Trouble was I enjoyed driving so only let him drive when it was necessary and I didn't feel too well.  When it came to me not being able to drive at all, he had to have lots of practice so that he could take his test and pass it straight away.

If I do his accounts I can keep an eye on how he is doing, can remind him when he is getting behind with payments (very rarely) and can tell him if he has made any mistakes at all.  I have promised Colin that I will make David sit still at his laptop in the office and actually do a week's accounts himself.  David does realise that he would be lost if I suddenly couldn't do them and Mandy definitely wouldn't be able to.  He keeps saying he knows he needs to do them sometime but can never find the time.  That is his excuse.

I suppose we both have our own excuses for me still doing them.  If I stopped doing his work I might not get to see Status Quo any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  he he he   19th December in Hull - Status Quo......

Darling:  Will you be hiding in the office from the fireworks or the cake making????  I think you should have a go at the icing top decoration.   I heard on the Wright Show on Channel 5 that somebody had used the stag and hen night for everybody to create a top decoration for the wedding cake in icing.  The best was actually placed on top of the wedding cake on the wedding day.  I think, after the fireworks and a few glasses of 'water' everybody should be given a bowl, some icing sugar, colouring, board and told to design the top of Mel's cake....  Should be interesting especially after everybody had had a few bevvies.

You little raver, of to another rock concert. Us oldies aren't supposed to do things like that!

HOYS is not having any new clothes for the cruise. Money  is a little tight, as she no longer works, and the building is costing a lot more than anticpated. She keeps complaining that half a crown don't go far these days!

We have two cruises booked on Eclipse next year, dont know if we will be doing any more than that.

Well, its bedtime, up early Wed

Night Night
