Just thought I would share with you all what lovely weather we are having here on Aurora. Currently in a force nine and have been throughout the night. As I type I have to keep holding on to the desk to stop my chair rolling me around the room!

My impressions so far are very good. The ship is lovely and holiding up to this weather very well considering. We are on a table for four which is what we requested and service last night was the best we have ever had! For those that are interested we did get offered cheese and biscuits!!

The four of us are in a larger inside cabin and have sufficient storage space etc.

We are due to have a CC meet at 12 although I feel that few may turn up because this end of the ship is a lot worse than the middle! Anyway two more sea days until we arrive at our first port of call Barcelona on Saturday!

Will update as and when for all you following back home!

Hello Thorpey,

Yes seen it on the webcam, looks terrible, keep us posted.  Had similar conditions 5 years ago in Biscay and the Channel on Oceana.

Happy sailing

I realised I signed in to an account the other day that we no longer use!

Been in Barcelona today, weather warm but breezy. We paid 21 euros for the City sightseeing bus that we hopped on and off all day. This enabled us to see a lot of the city in a day and gave us some good ideas of things to do if/when we return.

The food on this cruise is the best we have experienced! Lots of choice and nicely cooked.

Just a bit of info on the larger inside cabins on Aurora. They are quite a bit bigger than any inside cabin we have had previously, although set up as twin rather than double which I think gives you more room anyway. There is a three seater sofa with a bed that pulls out from underneath but does not raise into a double like we had assumed. Just about enough storage space for four adults. The main downside from previous cabins is the shower, it doesn't keep temperature and is a lot smaller than we have had before, with just enough room to stand - was very tricky trying to shave my legs in it in a force 10!

Anyway... Monte Carlo tomorrow!
