| Did you know once you are officially old you get discount at B&Q on Weds? We were less than impressed when virtually everything for our new kitchen was not covered by this (all done while away on Arcadia) BUT today we discovered that it did include stuff we bought tonight & we had actually forgotten it WAS Weds.

I knew about the discount. We tried to get it on a kitchen my hubby fitted in his mum's house but, like you, found it doesn't apply to kitchens!

On Wednesdays, its surprising how many over 60s sit in the car while the younger ones go shopping with the CARD.

| Actually the girl on the till (looked about 12) admitted that she wondered but didn't like to ask our ages, it was just MrsJTD saying "what day is it" that made her say are you in the discount club. Mrs JTD has naturally dark brown hair & doesn't dress her age, It was probably the old bloke in trackie bottoms & a hoodie that gave the game away!!

Focus also do a card for the over 60's with 10% off every day. Not sure how well publicised it is.

Very depressing when we went in to get our cards they never even asked for the proof of age :-(

The obvious reason why pensioners get a discount, is that the state pension is a lot lower than somebody working full time on a minimum wage. Not many pensioners are rich, majority live on or below the poverty line.
