Hi parrot, welcome to the site.  You have a real treat ahead of you, but which islands and stops are on your itinerary?

So some thoughts for you but if you maybe say what sort of things you like doing we can maybe 'tune' these iniital sugesitons for you

Antigua - make sure you visit SHirley Heights and Nelsons DOck yard and don;t forget about Yoda man

St Lucia - there is a great Sea & See tour (full day) that covers the volcano, Pitons etc.

Barbados - Concorde experience, beaches, Orchid World, Sunbury plantation

Aruba - beaches, semi sub, island tour

Colon - Emberar indian village or Panama railroad would be good (I would avoid some of the others because you will experience these on the ship itself)

Limon - Tortuguero Canal (there is an option including a ride on rickety train)

Cozumel - Tulum (done it once and we are doing it again)

Catalina - this is a day at the beach

Tortola - Cane Bay beach, Pussers landing, Virgin Gorda.  Next time there we are doing the 'Beautiful BVI; which I have heard good reports about.

We have never been to any of your other stops ... looks like a great itinerary.

Hi Parrot

contd ....

Ponta Delgada

Has a Portuguese flavour, is ok for a look around but it has limited appeal.

We spent a week on this Island and it is a very beautiful place indeed, zillions of wild flowers at certain times of the year. With this thought in mind I suggest you take an Island Tour. If P&Os listed excursions include a visit to the Tea Plantation then I wouldn't bother, it is ok as part of a fuller program but not mega interesting (imo).

Madeira

Another beautiful Island, also Portuguese flavour. A full day Island Tour is a great choice. Half a day doing the Nuns Valley Tour coupled with a walk about in Funchal is just fine too, especially if you can fit in the Old Town

Do a 'search ' on this site for Madeira and you will have enough reading for a week.

:-)

Panama - If the train trip crossing from the Atlantic to Pacific is available, do it, it's great.  Pay the extra for the dome car if available.

Limon - I suggest that you do a trip, Limon itself is a bit depresssing.  We did the canals & train which you will enjoy if you like nature chasing.

Shep
