.... I have voted ....

Elaine

I have failed the effective writing course then.

It only matters that everybody has their say and from both sides of the divide.

Admin ALONE will of course decide what will happen on this P&O site, I am simply bringing it out into the open in a structured way.

Perhaps we could do with an additional section.

It could be called Blazing Rows or Flaming Feuds or War and No Peace?

You are right and I am not arguing with you - just being the Devil's Advocate.

There is a flaw in any argument but I have said that the OP will decide, report it and then leave it to Admin to deal with. At the moment a newbie for example has no idea at all what to do in such circumstances.

It is a question, for me, about the degree to which it goes off topic, camper vans may lead to VW which could lead to anything you like - if this is no problem to the OP then that is correct. Conversely if the camper van thread turns into a 'jtd vs The World ' scenario then I submit that is not acceptable if the OP so decides.

.... I expect I'm guilty somewhere along the line ......

Hi paulthesmokingbeagle

Maybe so, I certainly am.

Got so engrossed on one particular thread that I even got irritated when somebody had the audacity to post something ' On-Thread ' .... just don't tell anybody I told you that, ok.

What a dilemma
We are out at a 40th Birthday bash this evening and I can't make my mind up whether to record Strictly or the X Factor.
What should I do??????

I agree, if someone wants to read about a subject they don't expect to open a thread & find it is about something else, on other forums off topic posts are removed. Even in the "general discussion section I think this should be observed, yes, in a pub people do change the subject, but usually talk amongst themselves not to/at everyone. I did suggest this some time ago but the idea was ridiculed as was my suggestion that personal arguments should be conducted in a civilised manner in private.

Well, someone has suggested it again, remember not everyone has read everything, not all realise things have been said before, so regular readers must put up with things coming up again.

Mr Scully, may I call you Ray ?

You are a complete bounder and a trouble maker at that.

Your posting is a perfect, well not 'exactly' perfect, illustration of the problem under discussion and you Sir are entirely Off-Thread.

Accordingly I have reported you to Miss, so there !!!!
