.... Disagree in private is a start, but then ....

So start a poll perhaps - but not just yet, please.

jtd when you say 'they' I assume you include yourself as you are always in the thick of any arguments.

Those who voted against private arguments as opposed to public bickering. I am in the thick of things because people have a go at me, I know if I didn't respond they wouldn't but I don't see why I should not. If people would leave me alone or ignore me then I wouldn't BE in the "thick of it "

So ..... at this moment in time

 60 : 40

In favour of change, albeit with a low turnout.

May I thank everybody who has taken the trouble to vote and thanks also for ALL comments made.

Mob, what is worrying is that 40% seem to think it is fine to hi-jack threads!

I am one of the 40% but at no point have I condoned the hijacking of topics. My view is that the OP, of a topic, should not have unilateral discretion to say what should and what should not be in a topic - this, in the wrong hands, can come very close to censorship, which I do not believe should be prevalent on any forum.

The OP currently has the same rights as everyone else in that if they are not happy about a post then they can report that post - nothing more needs to be done.

The bottom line is that the way the forum is operating at the moment is acceptable to the site Admin and he/she is the one that will ultimately make the decision as to how this forum is run, hopefully taking into account the views expressed in this type of topic by the members of the forum.
