PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT

Postal Scam
Can you circulate this around
Especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal
Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the
Following scam:

A card is posted through your door
From a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were
Unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on  0906 6611911  0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam
originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
Already have been billed £15 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these
details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655

I've barred 09 numbers from our phone. There are lots of scams using them.

Surely BT could take an active roll and ban this telephone number.

Chickadee

Maybe, but not before many people have made the call.

Amazing how many cards can be dropped into a letter box in a couple of days.

The email itself is a hoax spam, created years ago, I've seen it last year and year before. Its not true, people create stuff like this so people send it to all their friends like a chain letter, well this is a chain email, and all it does is clog up cyber space.

...How do I know this?

Save this site address on your favourites and check emails like this , especially if they ask you to 'tell as many people as possible/tell all your friends.

There have been other scams where a small fee is payable before redelivery. You phone a contact number; similar to the one shown but not necessarily 09XXX then they charge £2.50 or so to your credit/debit card. They know your address because they know the letterbox where they put their card. You give them your credit/debit card number and the security number off the back to pay. They then have full details of how to get you to pay for things. If you do not expect a parcel you should not be receiving one.

watch out
