Honeybun - those amounts are the "suggested" rates for the tips. It is entirely up to you how much you give but bear in mind that, rightly or wrongly, these are the minimum that the staff expect.

Strange things tips ... for example

*  I am entirely happy with the P&O levels of tipping, have got used to them perhaps

*  Got quite excited about the Princess regime which is double that of P&O

But ..... tips are included on Ocean Village / Voyages of Discovery etc but I was thinking ' great ' even though I had absolutely no idea how much they were awarding themselves.

It is entirely personal how much you tip people; P&O suggest a guide level so as people have at least some idea of what is reasonable and you do not do embarrass anyone.   How much you give depends on how you perceive the level of service has been for you and you give whatever you think is appropriate, it is not compulsory. I tend to put US dollars or Euros into envelopes as these are the currencies I would normally have to hand and give the envelopes to waiter and cabin steward also Youth Team if daughter is with me. I tell daughter about tipping and if she wants to do an envelope its up to her, this will be received in the true spirit of a waiter or whoever receiving a small amount of money from a child. It is alway graciously received and never expected. I have had absolutely no trouble with my system and it seems to work well.

Despite what they say the staff expect at least  the minimum.

I have always found the staff more gracious than you suggest.  In my daughters case; due to her age the  recommended amount is nothing, so she will always be on a winner. I am sure the staff would not quiz children to see if they are above/below the relevant age anyhow. They seen to have a bit more class than that.
