| We haven't had our first cruise yet it departs on Friday, it was booked for the wife's birthday. I am just hoping it lives up to all the expectations that everyone is giving us. Next Cruise N925 Ventura

| We wanted to try something different to the usual holiday, same scenes each day etc.. We really enjoy waking up in the morning, sitting on the balcony with a cup of tea looking at somewhere new. We've been bitten by the bug, big time. Alan and Mary

I havent booked my cruise yet, but my parents have been on about 16 and keep saying how good they are.
So now that Im single again, I will take the plunge and hopefully do a cruise next year.
There are some very nice people on here, who have given me lots of good advice.

| I was working in Iran and had to leave because of the revolution, when I got back to UK had no work. A friend of mine was working on cruise ships in the casino, he spoke to his boss for me and got me a interview, three days later I was working on a cruise ship going down to South Africa. Then after nearly five years at sea, decided to leave, but the bug was in me. Since then I have been cruising for the past fifteen years. Sometimes twice a year at most. Will be on the Artemis also on the 31st October and looking forward to a little ship, last cruise on Ventura. Regards Billy. .

| Well, I'd always fancied a cruise - OH not so sure. Thought initially we'd try a short cruise - maybe a week round the Fjords. Then our friends e-mailed us "would you like to join us on our next cruise for our Silver Wedding - fly to New Orleans, two weeks round the Caribbean, fly home from Barbados? We are renewing our vows on board and would love you to be there". Well, what could you say ?! And it was my first longhaul flight as well! Our next one will be on 3 November (not long now!) on the Aurora to the Med - can't wait! Karen

| The BH wanted to go to Hawaii and the best price and value for money was acruise. So we booked it as simple as that. I never did any research before hand we didn't know what to expect, just went and made our own judgement. Would never discount a cruise.

| My first cruise the med because it was cheap and I was on my own My second the caribbean and three of my work mates came along My third caribbean I asked my youngest daughter My fourth to Hawiia with my oldest daughter My fifth to the caribbean I treated a friend as she needed a holiday My sixth was part of a three centre holiday Las Vegas California and cruise to Mexico My seventh was back to the med in January with no luggage My eighth next week the caribbean as I have had a rotten 12 months and it may be my last as they are more expensive when you are travelling alone with the single supplement. If I can get a cheap deal for Jan Feb or March 2010 I may go .

| I personally would never have booked a cruise but my dad's a retired marine engineer and boat builder and has always wanted to go on one!! My mum never fanicied it because she said my dad would spend the whole holiday talking about bow thrusters, horse power and other technical rubbish. So we decided to treat them, that way my dad & hubby can discuss engineering and me and mum can relax and have fun!!

| For me it was the destination and the opportunity to experience so many cultures and locations in a short space of time. For many of us our time, due to too few holidays available from work, time is as precious as the money to pay for holidays. Hence the need to make our couple of holidays a year really count. | We've booked our first cruise for Nov 2010 to the Caribbean - my husbands boss has been cruising for about 10 years now and we always get a blow by blow account of his accounts. They always sounded amazing and we've been tempted before but never actually taken the plunge, as we thought it was for oldies. It'll be our 10th wedding anniversary next year and we were thinking of Mexico, which is where we had our honeymoon, but then we thought 'why not tour the Caribbean on a cruise, and get more destinations for the same price as Mexico'. So that was it really, the holiday was booked and I'm counting the days - I'm on this site most days, picking up new tips, and I've still got a year to wait yet!! I'll be completely obsessed by the time the holiday arrives!
