If ladies drink pints they really need a straight glass, always ask for one. They do look a bit off with a mug.

"Do I walk through the restaurant clutching my pint (not at all sure about this)"

I don't have a problem with taking my unfinished pint into dinner. I drink pints not wine so where is the problem.

None of our dining companions over the years has mentioned this.
maybe because they find my tattoos, earrings and nose ring more interesting.

I don't think it's a good idea to walk into the dining room with a glass in your hand full or half full of beer (or whatever you're tipple).  Accidents can happen.

Order wine (or pre-order), other drinks, soft drinks at the table to be brought to you.  Also a pint glass on a dining room table does not look elegant (whether you're a gentleman or a lady).

"Do I walk through the restaurant clutching my pint (not at all sure about this)"

Ask the bar staff to have the drink moved to your restaurant table - and as if by magic it will reappear once seated.

Meldrew, I would ask a steward to take my beer into the restaurant

Many thanks for 'putting me right' regarding the matter of having a pint glass on the dining room table.

I think in future we had better find a little hideaway in the buffett to dine, where my unacceptable (disgusting) behaviour will hopefully not be noticed.

I've never noticed ladies with pint glasses on board, but I don't look at what people are drinking, as it's up to them what their tipple is, none of my business

I just think it's a shame that people think other cruisers may look down on them - is this the impression this message board gives?

Sadly Gill I think that is exactly the impression given at times amongst all the otherwise excellent advice. Hence, a great many of this type of question and people worrying unnecessarily about the opinions of others

The reason why we were glad that we did not know of this site before our first cruise.

The more experienced the cruiser, the more likely is the reply - "do want you want and enjoy yourself"
