| Just returned from the Aurora US/Canada cruise and we had up to force 12 around St John's Newfoundland. We were unable to visit St John's (narrow way in and hard to get out apparently) but Aurora was fine. Nice ship and seemed pretty stable. I went off the bed at 6 in the evening having had about 30 hours of up and down and side to side. Didn't feel sick but my head was all over the place and I just wanted a lie down. However, hubby went up the the buffet and thoroughly enjoyed the Indian curry buffet.

| Unless you have a modelling tank to test each ship in exactly the same conditions or are a Captain who has to be in control of the ships you can't answer this question. There are far to many variables to make a comparison., Wind force is purely to identify how strong the wind is. You can have force 10, but little swell. A friend had the second week of a back to back Caribbean cruise altered completely. There was no wind, but a hurricane had passed through a few days before and disturbed the sea to such an extent the Captain wasn't prepared to subject passengers to a week of rough sea and missed ports.

| I suppose its possible to feel ill one day on a particular ship, in a storm for a variety of reasons, including, what you ate in the previous few hours, - a full fry up in a force 9 isn't a good idea for example...then you are ill, and perhaps leave that ship at the end of the cruise and say to yourself 'not going on that one again' cause she made me ill. Someone who says 'Arcadia' made me ill and didn't she seem to handle well - well perhaps it was you weren't feeling 100% that day yourself and were going to be prone to sickness, whatever the ship?. I've only felt ill on one ship - Aurora, sailing over to Zeebrugge, but I wouldn't blame the ship. Oceana mentioned as a poor ride, yet for me sailing in force 10 back from Norway, I was fine - (when lying on the bed gripping the sides so I didn't fall off!) LOL.

I have never been sick on any of the ships (yet! or touch wood) but do wonder why so many people are?
Is it to do with our genetic make-up etc or other circumstances?

| Just returned from the Med on Aurora touching force 11 acrosss the bay (Cruise log entry) and 10M+ swells! nothing better than a full English and its quiet! Wife had to have a lie down tho. Aurora was fantastic! still think she's the best ship. Often wondered though why some people are affected by the motion; never been seasick myself; but imagine it must be aweful. (15 cruises)
