We did the Panama canal in 2007 with Island Princess which was great, but I would like to know if anybody has done this one on Oceana. Also I have only been to the Caribbean in January and February so is the weather similar in November.

I am off on the Ventura in 2 weeks time, can't wait to see the sun.

Yes, my husband and I are on Oceana E930 flying out of Glasgow on the 26th.  We have been on Oceana once before and really enjoyed ourselves.  We are particularly looking forward to the Panama Canal.

Got our cruise tickets by post today so beginning to feel excited about the cruise.

We got our tickets today also. It will be here before we know it - the weeks are just flying past. Hope the cruise doesn't go as fast. We are a party of 4 "wee wummen"  leaving from Glasgow on same flight as you. Starting to look out the "good clothes" for the formal nights. Love it. Really looking forward to Panama Canal part. When we arrive at ship we will have use of facilities although will have to wait for rooms to get ready. As long as restaurant open, we will be fine. See you there.

This is our first P&O cruise we decided to do a cruise to celebrate our silver wedding.

We are flying from Glasgow.   Starting to get excited now, have booked a couple of excursions - so plenty to look forward to.

Looking forward to cruise - can't wait to get to acapulco.

We have done the Panama Canal on both Princess (Royal Princess) and P&O (Arcadia and Oceana).    On the itinerary I would say that P&O flying in & out of Barbados/Acapulco wins hands down.  For the actual canal experience though I would give Princess the edge.  The reason, for me, was the special interest lectures given by a chap from Goodyear (whose name currently escapes me).

In November the weather should be fine in the SOuth Caribbean and Pacific.  Just remember though that the Panama Canal exists for one main reason ... the 'rain forest' and it is called such because of the 'trees' and the 'rain' ... it absolutely chucked it down when we did the canal in November (but all other days were brilliant).

Have a great trip.

Hi

We also on this cruise, flying from Cardiff but as I have said before am soooo dreading the long flight! Have been told on other thread that it is worth it and soon forgotten once we are on ship. Only 4 weeks to go, suitcases will be down this week. Has anyone started and finished their Christmas shopping?! I have done most of mine as no way am I going to want to be doing any when we get home on the 11th.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your reply. I must admit the commentary going thru the canal on Princess was very good and very informative, just hope P&O is just as good. As for the rain I dont mind if it does as it was soooo hot in the February when we did it last, we had to keep going inside just to cool of. Either way I just know i will enjoy it.

Like you, I have done all the Xmas shopping, wrapped them AND written the Xmas cards. Not a lot of time when we get back so good to be organised. Really looking forward to cruise. We flying from Glasgow. Be good to get the long flight over and good that the first 2 days are at sea to recover. See you there.

Hi there

We are also on this cruise, flying from Birmingham on 27th.

There are 5 of us going.

This will be our 2nd time on Oceana. We were on her in November 2007 and we renewed our wedding vows, as did the friends that we were with. It was magical!!!!

Can't wait for this year though, my Husband, Andrew has always wanted to do the Panama Canal, so this will be dream come true for him.

Look forward to seeing you all there!!!!

Dorice, Andrew, Jayne, Joe and Caleb XXXXX
