Discover the highlights of Agadir and get a true flavour of the modern and historical delights of this bustling city.

Agadir is a Berber word for a communal fortified granary, an inappropriate tribal name for a city whose history is full of foreign powers and ruling sultans. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1960, Agadir is now a completely modern city, an all-season resort town and an eternal jewel of the south.

Begin your excursion with a short drive to the ‘Kasbah‘. Its elevated position affords you the opportunity to capture the spectacular views out over the bay of Agadir.

Continue your drive towards the city, stopping en route for a photo opportunity at the Talborjt Mosque, a wonder of Moroccan architecture.

Complete your tour with a visit to the bustling Souk El Had, a marketplace that echos with the shouts of haggling merchants. Stimulate your senses with the heavy fragrances of herbs and spices. After a guided tour, free time will be given to browse the array of spices, leather goods and souvenirs before returning to the ship.

Dunes and Oceans

Venture into the unspoilt and remote Souss-Massa National Park, to discover the real Morocco on this half day tour.

Your 4x4 vehicle, will take you on a journey through sleepy Berber villages and Oases, before arriving at the ancient picture postcard fishing village of Tifnit, famous for its cave houses. Driving along the coast you'll pass the picturesque fishing village of Tifnit. Continue along the sandy Atlantic coast and Sidi R'Bat Dunes to the Massa Lagoon to discover the bird reserve. Opened in 1991, this reserve is most probably one of the most important birdwatching sites in Morocco and being situated on this Atlantic coastal region allows for a variety of habitats, ranging from Argania trees, cultivated fields, dry steppe lands, typical fishing villages, dunes and sandy beaches. Enjoy a short walk around the lagoon and watch out for the migrating birds and wealth of wildlife that is often found here. Sip a refreshing drink at the Oued Massa, a typical rural house, nestled inside the Berber village of Massa, which is situated on the road to National park.

Fantasia Show and Souk

Be mesmerised by the charm of the Fantasia Show and browse for souvenirs at the bustling Grand Souk, El Had.

Experience the mysteries of Morocco and learn about the history and culture of this colourful country.

Depart the pier to the Old Kasbah where you can take in the panoramic views across the bay.

After a short drive, you’ll arrive at ‘Agadir Fantasia’, where you will discover the charms of true Moroccan hospitality with a spectacular ‘Fantasia Show’.

The acrobats and folklore troop begin the show along with regional live music. Outside the tent, the horses will take centre stage and delight you with their formations and trickery. During the show you’ll be served Moroccan mint tea and cookies.

Afterwards, you’ll visit the Souk El Had, a 'kaleidoscope' of vibrant colours with aromas of herbs and spices. Enjoy some free time to browse the stalls where you can purchase anything from assorted spices to handmade leather slippers.

Massa 4x4 Adventure

Get off the beaten track and join us on this 4x4 adventure to experience the ‘real’ Morocco.

Skirting arid sands and desert oases, you’ll head up into the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, along the Atlantic coast and through sleepy Berber villages to discover a different side of Morocco.

Driving along the coast you'll pass the picturesque fishing village of Tifnit, a traditional Berber village, nestling in a hollow cove with a fine sandy beach.

Continuing your adventure along Sidi R'Bat sandy dunes, you’ll reach Massa. Massa is a nature reserve; part coastal lagoon, part river and home to a variety of birds especially the pink flamingo. Have your camera at the ready as you take some time to stretch your legs and do a spot of bird watching.

Afterwards, drive to a traditional Berber village, where you’ll enjoy a Moroccan feast of sweet honey, rustic bread, tender meats, fresh fruit and vegetables.

The return journey takes you past the Massa Valley and Morocco’s Atlantic coastline, driving along miles of golden beaches.

Oriental Show

Enjoy all the fun of a Moroccan folklore and cultural show, and a tasty Moroccan lunch

Leaving the harbour, you’ll take the road that ascends towards the Kasbah of Agadir, a Medieval hilltop fortress that was built by the Berbers in 1540. Here you’ll be able to capture on film the spectacular views over the city of Agadir.

Relax on board your coach while you are taken on an orientation trip through the city of Agadir and its main streets. Stop briefly to take a photo of the Talborjt Mosque, a wonder of Moroccan architecture. Continue on to Ksar Chems Ayour, a fortified Berber Palace in the Tamsia Village, on the outskirts of Agadir.

From the moment you enter the village through the main gate, guarded by horsemen, you’ll discover all the charms of true Moroccan hospitality. The central arena has seating allowing great views so everyone can enjoy the show to the full, with dances, acrobatics, cavalcades, culminating in the thunder of horses and musket-fire..

Enjoy a colourful and tasty Moroccan lunch under the shelter of a Caydal tent, whilst being entertained by a non-stop folkloric show.
