Experience the thrill of zipping through one of Barbados’ most beautiful sites.

Depart from the Cruise Terminal on a scenic drive towards Walkes Spring Plantation and the home base of the Aerial Trek Zipline Adventure.

Upon arrival at the site, you’ll receive your safety briefing and will be outfitted with safety gear that will include your harness system, helmets and gloves. Your thrilling adventure will take you over 8 platforms, each with 2 experienced guides who will provide you with information on the different areas of the eco-system that you will experience as well as ensuring your safety. The course is over 1,000 feet in length and the highest platform is over 100 feet high with the longest zipline stretching almost 300 feet.

As well as the adrenaline rush, you’ll also enjoy some of the most beautiful views on the island and learn about the various geological formations on show. At the end of the exhilarating course, take a short walk back to base camp to be rewarded with a well-deserved, refreshing drink. You’ll then have a chance to purchase souvenir photos and branded merchandise from the gift shop before boarding your bus for the return journey to your ship.

Participants should wear full-length trousers and a top that can be tucked in at the waist; clothes are likely to get dirty and may get damaged. Participants with long hair should tie it back and all jewellery should be removed and left on board to avoid injury, damage and/or loss.

The Atlantis Submarine Experience

Enjoy the magic of the underwater world of Barbados on board the incredible Atlantis Submarine.

Cruise through an amazing undersea world at depths of 50 to 150 feet as you embark on a voyage of discovery aboard the Atlantis Submarine. Atlantis is one of the premier attractions in the Caribbean, providing a unique exposure to a fascinating underwater world.

You’ll board a ferry for the short transfer out to the dive site to join the Atlantis Submarine. This ‘aquarium in reverse’ will provide you with a view of a world with marine life in its natural environment. The colour and abundance of exotic fish, spectacular sponge gardens and fascinating coral formations will be unveiled outside your porthole.

All this time Atlantis is maintained at a cool air conditioned temperature and sea level pressure. Experienced crew will point out and describe the sights in detail as tropical fish pass within touching distance beyond the portholes.

This excursion will operate by bus, boat and submarine. Children under 4 are not permitted to participate and all participating children must be at least 3 feet tall. This tour involves very little walking, however passengers must be able to negotiate an 11 step ladder into and out of the Atlantis Submarine. The Submarine dive lasts approximately 50 minutes. Enjoy a scenic transfer through the historic capital of Bridgetown, passing the parliament buildings and Independence Square and on to Carlisle Bay, one of the longest and widest beaches on the island.

Upon arrival, you’ll be offered a refreshing drink and have a brief orientation of the beach and facilities. It’s then time for you to sit back and relax on your complimentary beach chair and enjoy the sun, sea and sand.

Experience a round of golf at the Barbados Golf Club.

Your transfer will take you from the port, heading through Bridgetown and along the kaleidoscopic South Coast to the Barbados Golf Club.

The 18-hole course spreads out over 6,905 yards among the rolling hills of the Barbados countryside. Two lakes enhance play on five of the holes and create the dramatic ‘Amen Corner’ on holes 15 and 16, while a series of coral waste bunkers add to the excitement.

When you have finished your game you can head for the clubhouse for some post-game analysis and enjoy a refreshment, before the return transfer to the port.

Barbados Sights and Concorde Experience

Discover the history of Concorde, combined with island highlights and coastal views.

Enjoy a scenic drive to Gun Hill Signal Station, located in the parish of St George, which provides a magnificent and captivating view of the entire island. The Signal Station was restored and landscaped by the Barbados National Trust and now houses a collection of military memorabilia.

The original building of St John’s Church was erected in 1660 and the present gothic structure is situated on a cliff 800 feet above sea level. A photo stop will be made here to admire the most breathtaking views of the East Coast of the island.

The Barbados Concorde Experience is located further south and is home to British Airways Concorde G-BOAE. A spectacular show projected onto the side of the aircraft called ‘Engineered for speed’ will leave you breathless and feeling that you have just witnessed a spectacular take-off. During your visit into the interior of Alpha-Echo, you will also get the chance to sit where many celebrities sat and imagine how they felt travelling on Concorde.

Just before returning to the pier, you will take a leisurely drive along the lively South Coast of Barbados and through the heart of the historic capital Bridgetown, passing by many of the important sites.

This scenic drive has been specially designed for those who’d prefer an overview of Barbados with little walking.

The original building of St John’s Church was erected in 1660 and the present gothic structure is situated on a cliff 800 feet above sea level. Step inside to see the double staircase of cedar leading to the organ gallery and the traditional high-backed pews. The frangipani trees in the yard lead you to some magnificent views of the east coast.

The views from the Highland Centre are also spectacular. Situated at the heart of the island, 1,004 feet above sea level, the picturesque landscape sweeps down to the east coast. You’ll be served a welcome refreshment of a rum punch or soft drink whilst you take in the surrounding views.

You’ll pass by sights such as Heroes Square (formerly Trafalgar Square) and Gun Hill Signal Station as you head towards the rugged Atlantic coastline. Travel inland up to the Highland Centre, where you'll have spectacular views. You’ll see St Thomas Church, and pass through Holetown for a photo stop at the monument to commemorate the place where the first settlers landed in 1627. Enjoy viewing the opulent Sandy Lane area before returning to the ship in Bridgetown.

An ideal tour for art lovers, Colleton Great House has an awe-inspiring collection of painted and sculpted art.

Take a scenic drive northwards along the affluent West Coast, where you'll enjoy the sights of the beautiful homes and hotels that are situated in an area known as the ‘Gold Coast’ of Barbados. You’ll pass through the historic towns of Holetown and Speightstown before arriving at Colleton Great House in the northernmost parish of St Lucy.

Colleton Great House was built in 1647 by Sir John Colleton, an English royalist who moved to Barbados after the execution of Charles I. This well-kept residence was last owned by Australian oil-industry legend and geologist Frank Rickwood, an avid art collector who bought and restored the house in 1990. Upon arrival, you'll be treated to a tour of this fantastic residence and witness first-hand Mr Rickwood’s obvious love for art as you view many impressive pieces of painted and sculpted artwork on display.

After your tour of the in-house collection, proceed to the outdoor museum and marvel at the sight of one of the largest collections of authentic African art in the world. You'll then have time to reflect on viewing such an exquisite collection during a leisurely drive back to the port.

Setting off from the port, you’ll take a drive through the heart of Bridgetown and through the historic Garrison area, the site where the British Garrison was established in 1789. The area is home to St Ann’s Fort, the national armoury and the largest cluster of English cannons. Your drive will take you around the Garrison Loop with a photo stop along the way.

Afterwards, you’ll continue along the south coast and enjoy a short stop for a stroll along the boardwalk. Here you can capture lovely views of the stretching coastline and turquoise ocean.

To round off your tour, your journey will continue through the countryside and on to Sunbury House. This beautifully maintained plantation house is over 300 years old and is home to antiques and memorabilia from years gone by. Explore 2 of the island’s favourite attractions, a must for those with a passion for gardens and orchids.

Hunte’s Gardens are located in the lush hills of St Joseph’s and are the creation of local horticulturist Anthony Hunte. To reach the Gardens, you’ll take a scenic 40 minute drive from the port. The Gardens have an unusual flair, with pathways leading to a series of mini-gardens embedded within the main Garden. As you wander through, listen out for the subtle sounds of classical music playing. During your visit a glass of rum punch or freshly squeezed juice will be offered.

Orchid World is your next stop, which is set in 6½ acres of landscaped interior highlands and is home to over 30,000 exquisite orchids. A meandering path winds its way between outcrops of coral, rock gardens, cool shady gullies and tranquil ponds. Thousands of orchids are grown in shaded houses and outside on freestanding palisades. In front of the wonderful blooms are information boards offering facts about these unusual plants.

Discover the delights of Barbados, the local rum, the great Sunbury House and the island’s unique mahogany crafts.

Setting off from the port, you’ll take a drive through Bridgetown, the historic area of Garrison Savannah, and along the south coast en route to the Foursquare Rum Distillery. Set in the grounds of the Heritage Park, the modern rum distillery was once a sugar plantation dating as far back as the 15th century. During your visit, your guide will provide fascinating facts on the history and process of rum production.

Afterwards, your journey will continue to Sunbury Plantation, the island’s great heritage house. You’ll have the opportunity to view memorabilia of bygone days and to see the beautifully maintained collection of antiques.

Leaving Sunbury Plantation House, you’ll drive to your final stop, Medford Mahogany Creations. Here you’ll experience how mahogany works of art are created, from the raw wood on the ground through to the carving process and final product. This unique process can only be seen at the Medford Studio by self taught artist Reggie Medford, recognised as one of Barbados’ top sculptors. Browse the studio and perhaps purchase a souvenir of your visit before the return drive to the port.

The Historic Garrison

The Historic Garrison

An opportunity to visit the historic Garrison area, an integral part of the heritage and history of Barbados.

Setting off from the port, you’ll take a drive through the bustling capital of Bridgetown, passing by the parliament houses and the 1813 statue of Admiral Horatio Nelson, before arriving at the historic Garrison area. ‘The Garrison’, as it is known locally, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the base and headquarters for the British West Indies regiment in Barbados. Today it houses the Barbados Defence Force, including the Coast Guard Force and Cadet Corps.

A guided tour will show you the George Washington House and the many well preserved 18th and 19th century military buildings. There will also be an opportunity to browse in the gift shop.

Afterwards, a brief drive will take you to St Ann’s Fort where a soft drink or rum punch will be served. You’ll also experience a reenactment of the changing of the sentry, performed by the Zoave Band and Garrison Soldiers, before the return drive to the port.
