ATV Experience and Beach

Combine the exhilaration of driving an All Terrain Vehicle through Cozumel’s landscapes with time to relax on the beach.

After your safety briefing and proficiency test, you’ll embark on an ATV adventure that will take you through the narrow paths of Cozumel. Whizzing along the rustic trails, you’ll experience the sights and scenery of this region along the way.

Afterwards, you’ll take a short taxi transfer to the Playa Mia Beach Club, where the fun continues. Here, you’ll have around 1½ hour’s free time to take a refreshing dip or perhaps join in a friendly game of soccer or volleyball. Alternatively, there’s always the option of simply relaxing on one of the sun loungers and soaking up some sun.

A delicious local style buffet lunch and soft drinks will be on offer during your stay.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by ATV, taxi and on foot. Pregnant women and those under 18 may not participate. A full clean driving licence is required. The gearboxes are manual and passengers should have some experience of riding an ATV. Passengers must listen to a safety briefing and perform simple manoeuvres to demonstrate competence. This tour is sold one bike per person, pillion passengers are not allowed. This tour is not suitable for those with injuries or conditions, which may be affected by the bumpy ride. There is a weight limit of 17 stone on this tour. It is essential to wear long trousers and flat, comfortable closed toe shoes. Please wear swimwear under clothes and take a towel and sunscreen. Clear Kayak and Snorkel

Clear Kayak and Snorkel

An opportunity to glide across the coral reef in a clear kayak and snorkel the clear waters at Chankanaab National Park.

Take a short drive to Chankanaab National Park, where your kayak adventure begins. Upon arrival you’ll follow your guide to the beach and receive a safety briefing and instruction, before boarding your ‘double clear kayak’. These unique kayaks seat 2 people and have a window to the wonderful marine world within the bottom of the kayak. As you paddle over the Coral Reef look out for the many colourful tropical fish swimming beneath you.

After your kayak adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to don some snorkel gear and head into the clear waters to experience more of the underwater world. Some free time will also be given for you to relax on the beach or perhaps explore Chankanaab National Park. During your tour a refreshing soft drink will be offered.

Your return drive will take you via downtown and back to the port.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by taxi and kayak. This tour is only suitable for those in good physical condition. Participants must be competent swimmers. Pregnant women and children under 8 may not participate. There is a weight restriction of 30 stone per kayak. The kayaking will last around 45 minutes. Please wear swimwear underclothes, take a hat, sunglasses, a towel and non-oil sunscreen. Water shoes are advisable; however you will be requested to remove shoes whilst in the kayak. You’ll be required to wear a life jacket. Passengers who wish to remain at Chankanaab will return to the ship at their own expense.

Visit 2 of Cozumel’s highlight attractions for a delightful combination of culture and natural wonders.

‘Discover Mexico’ is a vibrant new cultural park that brings the country’s rich heritage to life in a colourful and educational exhibit of pre-Hispanic, Colonial and Modern ages. Enjoy a walk around the exterior of Mexico’s most important archeological sites and colonial buildings in miniature and peruse the Popular Arts Museum.

Afterwards, you’ll continue to the enchanting Chankanaab National Park where you can discover more of the beautiful island of Cozumel. This oasis is ideal for snorkeling and swimming and offers both a beautiful lagoon and beach.

Visit the lagoon filled with thousands of tropical fish or take a stroll along one of the nature trails. The time here is yours to enjoy as you please.

It brings the country’s rich heritage to life in a colourful and educational exhibition of pre-Hispanic, Colonial and the Modern ages. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your Park guide for a tour of the Park. Enjoy a walk around a fascinating outdoor display of Mexico’s most important archeological sites and colonial buildings in miniature and peruse the Popular Arts Museum.

During your visit, there will also be some free time to browse the souvenir shop, before taking the return journey to the port.

Combine a visit to the ‘Discover Mexico Park’ with the opportunity to sample Tequila!

‘Discover Mexico Park’ offers an insight into Mexico and brings the country’s rich heritage to life in colourful and educational exhibits. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your Park guide for a tour of the Park. Enjoy a walk amongst the outdoor miniatures that depict important archaeological sites and colonial buildings and peruse the Popular Arts Museum.

Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to sample Tequila and learn some interesting facts behind the preparation process. From the many varieties of Tequila available, you’ll sample a Blanco, a Reposado and an Añejo, as well as Tequila cream and Tequila liquor. You can also admire the different Tequila bottles which are often works of art. During your Tequila tasting session, you’ll also be offered a light snack of tasty Mexican tacos with salsa dips.

Once you have become a Tequila tasting expert, it will be time to take the taxi transfer back to the port.

Punta Sur Ecological Park offers a pristine tropical environment. As you explore from the vantage point of your all-terrain vehicle, your guides will give you some background on Cozumel’s history and culture.

Stopping at the lagoon, you’ll be encouraged to look out for local wildlife. You’ll pass by an ancient Mayan ruin and journey through the Eco Park to the Punta Sur Lighthouse. Those with a head for heights can enjoy spectacular views from the lookout tower, 133 steps up, or you can choose to visit the small Nautical Museum. Your adventure continues at the beach, where you can snorkel to witness the amazing array of sea life or simply relax.

Mexican Fiesta Folkloric Show

Enjoy music and dance? This excursion combines Mexican music and colourful dance displays with a chance to shop for souvenirs.

Enjoy a true taste of Mexico at the Forum Theatre with a variety of local and regional dances during a folkloric dance show. Bear witness to the exotic dances from the Aztec heritage, the contagious cheer of the state of Veracruz and the colourful dance from the state of Jalisco, all performed to traditional Mariachi music and the harmonious sounds of the marimba or xylophone. Whilst you relax and enjoy the spectacle, a complimentary local drink will be served.

The Theatre is within the Forum Shopping Plaza and just a step away from the downtown area, providing an opportunity after the performance to browse for souvenirs.

After free time for shopping, you’ll meet up for the return to the ship. Those wanting to spend longer shopping may do so and take a later transfer.

The Best of Cozumel

The Best of Cozumel

Capture the best bits of Cozumel with a mix of Mayan ruins, a tipple of Tequila and an insight into the local history.

Setting off from the port you’ll enjoy a drive to the Mayan ruins of San Gervasio, where a civilisation thrived 1200 years ago. As you follow your guide through the small ancient site, you’ll discover its fascinating history and culture.

Afterwards, a visit to a local Tequila outlet will be made. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a sample of the local Tequila.

Your journey will continue to El Cedral, the oldest settlement on the island. Learn about the ancient history of the Mayans who first inhabited this tiny village, and see where the first Catholic service was held in Mexico.

As you head back into town, a stop will be made at the Museum of the Island. The museum houses many exhibits and artefacts from around the island and provides an insight into the history, eco system and geography of Cozumel. After your visit, you’ll take the short drive back to the port.

Journey back in time to the lost civilisation of the Mayans and discover the temples at Tulum.

A ferry ride across to the mainland of Mexico will take you to Playa Del Carmen, where you’ll take a drive to the ancient Mayan settlement of Tulum.

Here, you’ll learn of the ancient Mayan civilisation known for their advanced knowledge of astrology and distinctive architecture. You’ll also find the ‘Paradise Kingdom’ which features a wealth of restored structures and impressive ruins, plus The Temple of the Descending God dedicated to beliefs in extra terrestrials and life on other planets.

Before taking the return ferry to Cozumel, enjoy a brief photostop in Playa del Carmen.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by ferry, bus and on foot. From Cozumel, the ferry transfer is 45 minutes to Playa del Carmen and a further 1 hour bus ride to Tulum. The ferry transfer may be choppy; those who suffer from motion sickness should bear this in mind. This tour involves a lot of walking over uneven ground. There is a 15 minute walk from the ferry to the bus and also to the ruins from the bus parking area. Flat, non slip shoes are essential. There is a charge of US$5 - $8 to use video cameras. The ruins should not be touched due to their fragile state. Please take sun protection and local currency for purchasing a snack or refreshments. Discover the Mayan paradise of Xel-Ha, a beautiful natural lagoon offering an array of activities.

Embark on a ferry trip across to mainland Mexico, where you’ll take a drive to the Xel-Ha Park. Located on the Maya Riviera, the park was originally sacred to the Mayans and today it has become a major attraction.

Upon arrival, you’ll have around 4½ hours to explore at your own leisure. Xel-Ha is a haven for natural beauty and offers plenty to see and do. The underground rivers and springs feed the area, filling the lagoon with both salt and fresh water, making it a haven for tropical fish and coral formations.

During your stay, perhaps head to the beach and relax on the powder white sand, snorkel the glistening cove, inlet and lagoon waters, or simply stroll along the jungle paths. You may even choose to take a leisurely ride on a river tube.

As your time at Xel-Ha comes to end, you’ll meet back at the designated time and place for the return journey.
