Fiji Cruises

Welcome to Fiji, one of the happiest places in the world, where the locals always wear a smile and greet you with a friendly 'Bula!'

Spend more than a few minutes in this beautiful untouched paradise and you'll soon see why the people are so happy; palm trees sway in the breeze next to deserted beaches, crystal clear water laps at the shores and music fills the air.

There's a saying here that everything gets done on 'Fiji Time'. Roughly translated, this means that not much ever gets done. But when the sun's out and the beach is calling, who has time for work anyway? With over 300 islands over an area of more than 7,000 square miles, a Fiji cruise is without a doubt the best way to see this wondrous country.

Top 5 interesting facts

  • Around 10% of the population play the national sport Rugby Union.

Highlights

Traditional life

It’s easy to stick to the coastline, but Fiji offers a lot more than just sun, sea and sand. Venture a little inland and you'll be treated to vibrant cities, lush jungles and historical landmarks. Take the capital city of Suva for example – here you can trek through the jungle by day or shop the local markets for traditional handicrafts. You're also within striking distance of a host of local villages, which still uphold the traditions of Fijian life.

Incredible waterfalls

The Sikh and Krishna temples of Lautoka make this a great place to visit on a Fiji cruise. The mix of Indian and Fijian lifestyles can be seen in the markets, with all their handicrafts and foods. To experience the beauty of nature, The Koroyanitu National Heritage Park, an hour’s drive from Lautoka port, is a great place to visit thanks to the incredible waterfalls and the flora and fauna you can enjoy along the walking trails.

Beaches

 xx

All this being said, the undisputed stars of the show when it comes to visiting Fiji are of course the beaches.

Long sweeping beaches and perfect desert islands ringed by sand are commonplace. Fine white sands and glowing turquoise waters mean it’s a good idea to pack some strong sunglasses to avoid that glare!

Below the water, Fiji's coral reefs simply teem with life. Divers will be in their element with a huge variety of sea life including dolphins, turtles, sharks, manta rays and a cornucopia of colourful reef fish to discover. The shallow waters also make it easy to explore without the need to strap on the scuba gear – just use a snorkel!
