9/11 Memorial and Museum

Duration: 4½ hours

An opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, a moving tribute to the tragic events that took place in 2001.

A drive along the west side of Manhattan will take you the World Trade Centre area. Upon arrival, follow your guide to the 9/11 Memorial Museum, where you’ll have around 2 hours to explore independently. The memorial and museum are poignant reminders of the tragic events that took place on September 11th 2001.

The museum houses a growing collection of images, audio and video tapes, personal effects, structural remnants and expressions of tribute and remembrance and recorded testimonies. Each exhibit offers a touching insight into the shocking events.

At the end of your visit, you’ll meet with your guide and walk across to the 9/11 Memorial located next to the museum. View the water features that sit within the original footprints of the Twin Towers, and where the names of all those who lives were sadly lost are displayed. Here, around 1 hour will be given to reflect on the scale of the tragedy.

On the return drive, you can sit back and admire more of New York, as you head back to the pier.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. At the 9/11 Museum all visitors are subject to security screening. Please only bring one bag per person which does not exceed 21cms x 44cms x 49 cms. Bags larger than this size will not be permitted and there is no baggage storage. Personal photography is permitted, however video cameras are prohibited. Commercial photography and videography are not permitted. This tour is predominantly on foot over varying terrain including some cobblestones and steps. Flat, comfortable shoes are advised. The tour duration is heavily dependent on local traffic conditions and may vary.

A Walk around Central Park

A delightful walking tour that will take you through New York’s most famous park.

Central Park brings a breath of fresh air to New York’s urban surroundings. What started out as a rocky and desolate northern fringe rapidly expanded into one of the New York’s most famous and beloved parks.

Your walking tour will take you through the main hub of the park located in the southern half. As you meander through the winding pedestrian pathways, your guide will explain the history and design of the park and highlight its attractions. En route, you’ll stop at areas such as Central Park Mall, Bethesda Fountain, Strawberry Fields and Central Park’s Belvedere. You’ll also have the opportunity to stroll through ‘The Ramble’, a tranquil wooded area that offers a forest feel.

A short stop will also be made at the park’s landmark Loeb Boathouse Express Café. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a drink if you wish or simply admire the lovely surroundings.
<>br> Afterwards, your return drive will take you around the outskirts of the northern half of Central Park. A short photo stop will be made a lovely secluded oasis, the Conservatory Garden, before heading back to the pier.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by minibus and on foot. This tour involves around 2½ hours of walking over varying terrain, including slight inclines and some steps. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are essential. This tour will operate come rain or shine and passengers should dress appropriately according to the weather. The walking route is subject to change; Central Park is often used for events without notice which may restrict certain areas from visitors. It is advisable to take a bottle of water. US Dollars are accepted for purchases.

Cats the Musical Theatre Tickets

Head to Broadway and take in a showing of Cats, the musical!

Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and produced by Cameron Mackintosh, the production of Cats is based on T.S Eliot's ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’. A wonderful musical story of a tribe of cats named the Jellicles who come out to play on one special night of the year, the night of the Jellicle Ball. The show is alive with feline characters including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jenntanydots and skimbleshanks to name but a few.

This imaginative musical has won numerous awards and has set records for being the 4th longest running show, with a running time in London of 20 years and Broadway of 18 years. Now Cats is returning to Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre, ready to delight theatre goers once again.

This tour option is ticket only and does not include transportation to or from the theatre. One ticket per person must be booked. Transport can be arranged if required by visiting the Shore Excursion Desk once on board. The evening performance will commence at 1900, and passengers are advised to arrange for a departure of at least one 1 hour prior to the show to allow for traffic. The show running time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes with 1 interval.

Essential information

This excursion is on foot. There is a limited number of tickets available. Seating is located in the orchestra standard seating area, row M 106-115. Walking is at the discretion of the passenger. There are some steps at the theatre, however lifts are available. The theatre tickets are subject to the terms and conditions of the Neil Simon Theatre. This tour option is non-refundable once booked. Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they reach the theatre in a timely manner and refunds cannot be given if the show is missed.

Discover Brooklyn

Enjoy a fascinating journey through Brooklyn's mosaic of ethnic neighbourhoods, where 1 out of every 8 Americans can claim their ancestry. It is also the birthplace of famous American icons such as Barbara Streisand, Woody Allen and George Gershwin.

Your drive will take you across the Manhattan Bridge and onto the Dumbo Area, where a photo stop at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge will be made. Here, you can admire views of the Manhattan Skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. Continue through the charming Brooklyn Heights and on towards the affluent Park Slope, considered to be one of the best neighbourhoods in New York.

Next, you’ll journey via Prospect Park and Borough Park towards Cony Island, for a short stop. Perhaps take a stroll along the boardwalk or purchase one of Nathan’s famous hot dogs! To round off your tour a brief stop will be made at Williamsburg, a once industrial landscape that is now a thriving art community.
