Leisurely Fremantle and Perth

This leisurely drive is an excellent way to discover the old charm of Fremantle and the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Perth.

The streets of Fremantle are lined with quaint terraced houses, historic buildings, and sidewalk cafés. Pass by the Round House at Arthur's Head, an old twelve-sided jail, and the Maritime Museum. A brief stop will be made at Burswood, a beautiful public park surrounded by many varieties of water birds, including the Black Swan.

Continue to Perth, a city with dazzling views from every angle. Soaring skyscrapers form an impressive wall along the Swan River’s northern shore. In the distance, the Darling Ranges rise from the coastal plains offering a superb natural backdrop. The prosperity of Perth is evident as you pass the fabulous mansions on Millionaires’ Row.

Before returning to the ship, a photography stop will be made at Kings Park, overlooking the Swan River and the city of Perth. The Park is primarily bushland, except for the lovely gardens atop Mount Eliza that offer panoramic city views.

Essence of Western Australia

A comprehensive tour that combines sightseeing of Perth and Fremantle with wine tasting, lunch and a river cruise.

Admire the sleek, modern buildings and soaring skyscrapers as you drive through Perth. You will have a brief stop at Kings Park for spectacular views of the city and Swan River. Travelling through the eastern suburbs you will arrive at Swan Valley, a heritage area renowned for its historic houses and superb wineries. Visit one of these wineries, Sandalford Wines, for some wine tasting. You will be able to enjoy a talk on the wine making process along with the tasting, including fortified wine straight from the oak barrel. An Australian lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

On returning to Perth, board your riverboat for a leisurely cruise down the Swan River to Fremantle. Watch the passing scenery glide by as you enjoy refreshments of tea or coffee and listen to the live commentary.

Re-board your coach for a brief orientation of Fremantle. As you travel along the Esplanade see the quaint terraced houses, ornate historic buildings and sidewalk cafés. Drive past the old Round House Prison at Arthur’s Head, an old twelve-sided jail, and the Maritime Museum, a grand cluster of stone buildings, before returning to the ship.

Twin Cities and River Cruise

A relaxed and leisurely way to see the sites of Perth and Fremantle from both land and sea.

Join your riverboat for a leisurely cruise along the pristine water of Swan River’s meandering waterway. Sit back, relax and enjoy refreshments as you listen to a live commentary and watch the stunning views glide past.

After your cruise, board your coach for a panoramic drive around historic Fremantle and modern Perth. You will pass many interesting sights such as Fremantle Prison, the Round House, the Maritime Museum and other architectural highlights.

You will pass some of the city’s exclusive suburbs and view the stunning skyline of Perth, nestled right on the Swan River, a mix of ultra modern and old world architecture. A photography stop will be made at Kings Park with its amazing views of the city and river, before returning to the ship.

Australian Wildlife and Wines

Drive out of the city limits to the wonderful Swan Valley, famous for its history and wineries.

Board your coach and traverse Perth’s sleek suburbs to the lush Swan Valley, renowned for its historic houses and award winning wineries. Stop at the Cellar Emporium of Sandalford Wines to enjoy wine tasting of the Estate’s vintages. See the wonderful views stretching off into the distance including row after row of vines.

After your wine tasting experience, you will drive to Caversham Wildlife Park, which offers a complete bush experience. You will have approximately 1½ hours’ free time to meander around the Park enjoying the different range of wildlife native to Australia such as emus, kookaburras, dingos and crocodiles. You could also take a walk through the kangaroo enclosure, to meet and perhaps feed the friendly kangaroos and wallabies, or get up close and have your photograph taken with one of the cuddly koalas. Look out for the daily show, which will introduce you to the wombat and a variety of other friendly Australian animals.

Fremantle Walking Tour

Experience the different sights, sounds and ambience of charming Fremantle on this interesting and informative walking tour.

Join your guide for a leisurely walk around the diverse city of Fremantle. You will see many of the city’s important buildings including the Round House, Western Australia’s oldest public building, the Fremantle Markets building and the Victorian Town Hall with its landmark clock tower.

As you stroll along the High Street, you will feel as though you have stepped back in time to the 1900’s, as the Victorian houses that were built here 100 years ago have been preserved and well maintained. In contrast, the port’s old commercial centre on Cliff Street are lined with Colonial buildings.

As you walk along Fremantle Harbour you will see the C.Y. O’Connor Statue, this bronze sculpture pays tribute to the Chief Engineer for Western Australia, who created the harbour by blasting and dredging rock and sand at the river mouth. Amble along the Esplanade, the city’s major parkland before ending the tour near the modern venue of the Maritime Museum. This allows you time to explore the city further at your own leisure.
