President Truman’s Key West

Relax as you ride on the little Trolley Train through time and history, and enjoy a visit to Truman’s Little White House.

As the little trolley train meanders through the old town of Key West, your guide will give a historical narration, pointing out more than 100 points of interest during the 14-mile journey.

You’ll see the southernmost point of the continental United States, Hemingway House, Key West Aquarium, Mallory Square, and the ‘Conch Houses’, with their gingerbread railings and wide verandas. You’ll pass by Duval Street, Bahama Village, the Historic Seaport, Sloppy Joe’s and the Audubon House.

During your train ride, you’ll hear all about Harry S Truman’s Little White House, where Presidents Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy spent time away from the pressures of their demanding roles. You’ll have time to explore this fascinating house and uncover the secrets of its past.

At the end of the tour, you may choose to remain in town or return to Mallory Square and the ship on foot by following the signs.

Discover Key West

Admire the delightful wonders of Key West on the little trolley train, and explore the Aquarium and Museum.

Your tour begins with a ride on the little trolley train, which will show you the highlights of Key West. Sit back and relax as your guide points out places of interest.

From Mallory Square, you’ll be escorted to the undersea world of Key West Aquarium. A window of wonder comes alive as expert guides explain the mysteries of the waters surrounding the Florida Keys. Shark and turtle feeds are a daily event at the Aquarium and Touch Tanks offer the opportunity for some hands-on experience.

Some of the most treacherous waters in the world surround the Florida coast and on average at least 1 ship per week would be wrecked somewhere along the Reef. The Shipwreck Treasure Museum takes you on a journey back to the time of the wreckers and details the perils they faced and the rewards they reaped.

After your self-guided tours of the Aquarium and Museum, the return to the ship will be on foot at your leisure.

All aboard for a fun-packed ride taking in all the famous sights and over 400 years of history.

As you arrive at your vehicles you will have the choice of riding in an Old Town Trolley or on the World Famous Conch Tour Train.

Get to know characters like John James Audubon, Ernest Hemingway and Harry S Truman and, like them, become captivated by the magic that is Key West. Your train will meander its way through the old town with its blend of tropical plants and flowers. You’ll pass by Historic Seaport, southernmost point, cigar makers ‘shot-gun’ houses, wreckers’ mansions, unique churches and learn about the town’s multi-cultural heritage.

Find out about Key West’s unique role in the Civil War, about Henry Flagler’s dream – and how it came true. From bold Spanish explorers and brave Wreckers to the great cigar barons and sponge magnets, you’ll be taken from the golden age of settlements to the exciting days of the railroad, The Depression, World War II and into the present day. Historic Homes and Gardens

Explore 2 fabulous historic homes that are steeped in Key West character and culture.

Embark on a leisurely stroll with your local guide through the colourful streets to learn more about this unique island. Along the beautiful tree lined streets of Truman Annex you’ll see magnificent homes and exotic plants including several large Banyan trees. Have your camera at the ready as you pass by Heritage House, the Porter Mansion and the Oldest House.

Your first stop is at the Curry Mansion, created by William Curry, Florida's first millionaire. Curry earned his fortune reputedly as a salvager, preying on shipwrecked travellers in Florida’s pirate-infested waters.

A further 2 blocks stroll brings you to Audubon House and Tropical Gardens. This beautifully restored mansion is filled with unusual European furnishings from shipwrecks and the 1 acre gardens are abloom with lush tropical foliage. Relax in the spacious rear garden and enjoy a glass of iced-tea, before you amble on to the centre of Key West, where your tour ends.

Before making your own way back to the ship, spend a little time browsing the many shops or sample a piece of the famous Key lime pie.

Key West Pub Crawl - NEW

Whether it’s the casual Keys atmosphere or Caribbean carnival, your Key West Pub Crawl will be an adventure to remember.

The ultimate Key West tradition is the ‘Duval Crawl’. Key West is famous for its bars, day or night the pubs are always rocking on this small island. On the Key West Pub Crawl you will experience some of the most famous and entertaining drinking establishments in the Florida Keys.

You’ll start downtown, winding your way through the historic seaport and then returning to Duval Street, visiting the Flying Monkey Saloon, the Lazy Gecko Island Bar and the famous Rick’s Bar to name but a few. Enjoy a domestic beer or mixed drink at each bar and receive a souvenir T-shirt featuring a martini glass logo to commemorate the event.

Enjoy the sites and bars of Key West with your guide, the ‘Master of Mixology’ as you embark on your party in paradise. Try the Caribbean Breeze at Rick’s if you dare!

Hemingway’s Key West Home - NEW

Experience the charms of Key West and explore Hemingway’s home.

Sit back and relax onboard the Old Town Trolley or the World Famous Conch Train as you wind your way through old town Key West. Travel back to a bygone era before civilization, when fierce Indians left their enemy’s bones to bleach in a tropical wilderness, naming the island Bone Key. Explore what is now a lush, tropical island and discover the charm and grace of one of America's unique architectural pleasures. En route you’ll pass by the Historic Seaport, Southernmost Point, cigar makers ‘shot-gun’ houses, wreckers’ mansions and unique churches.

One of Key West’s most famous residents was Ernest Hemingway. On this tour you’ll have the chance to exploring the Spanish Colonial style mansion he shared with his family. Hemingway lived on the island from 1931 to 1961 and wrote some of his most famous works were, ‘To Have and Have Not’, ‘The Hills of Kilimanjaro’, and ‘The Green Hills of Africa’. Much of the family’s furniture still adorns each of the rooms, and you can admire his wife’s stunning chandelier collection, the centerpiece being hand-blown glass chandelier from Murano. Hemingway’s beloved art collection, which includes a replica of the famous cat sculpture, a gift to Hemingway from Pablo Picasso. The original was broken by a thief and was unfortunately beyond repair.

At the end of the tour, you will be given the opportunity to remain in town and return to the ship independently.
