Tivua Island Under Sail

Fiji conjures up images of sand-fringed beaches and spectacular coral reefs, and this is exactly what you’ll find on Tivua Island.

Step aboard the ‘Ra Marama’ or ‘City of Nadi’ bound for an idyllic tropical island, surrounded by 500 acres of coral reef. As you cruise the blue waters of the Pacific for an hour and a half, relax, with morning tea, and enjoy the views of the Mamanuca Islands. Soak up the sun or watch for dolphins playing on the bow wave before you reach Tivua Island.

Upon arrival at Tivua, you’ll be welcomed by a traditional Kava ceremony. Afterwards, if you’re feeling adventurous, there are a variety of activities on offer to allow you a closer look at the fascinating and colourful marine life. Take a guided snorkelling tour, glass bottom boat or canoe. Alternatively, you may prefer to simply relax under the shade of a palm tree.

A local style buffet lunch including barbecued chicken, whole baked fish and a selection of salads and fresh fruits will be served on the island. The snorkelling tour, glass bottom boat and canoe are included in the cost of the tour.

Fijian Village and Orchid Garden

Experience the traditional Fijian ceremonies, view magnificent orchids gardens, and take a trip to the local market.

In 1000 A.D., the first Polynesians landed at Vadu Point near the village of Viseisei. Said to be one of Fiji’s oldest settlements, you will be welcomed into the village of Viseisei with a traditional Kava ceremony. A tour of the village will give you a fascinating insight into Fijian culture.

Continue your tour to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. This garden was the pet project of American actor, Raymond Burr. The garden lies at the base of a mountain in the Sabeto Range and is often referred to as the Sleeping Giant due to its shape and the accompanying myth, which surrounds it. The gardens specialise in orchids, and during a guided walk, you’ll see hundreds of these beautiful blooms in all shapes and colours. Your guide will explain the names and characteristics of the abundant native flora and fauna.

A short stop will be made at Nadi Market where you’ll have the opportunity to look at Fijian crafts and souvenirs.
