Cairns Panorama - BEST SELLER

View the highlights of Cairns on this delightful panoramic drive and see the Royal Flying Doctor Service base.

You’ll travel along the Cook Highway, passing the coastline, shimmering beaches and green cane fields.

Upon arrival in Cairns, you’ll head to the Royal Flying Doctor Service base for a short visit. You’ll see the main base and view a brief, but informative, video on the service’s tireless work. The charitable service has provided medical assistance to isolated communities and homesteads throughout Australia since its first flight in 1928.

Afterwards, your sightseeing drive continues through Cairns, passing the casino and central mall. Your guide will tell you of the history and development of the city and you’ll see the fascinating Navy Patrol Base, shipyards and sugar terminal.

The return drive passes through Palm Cove, one of Australia’s premier beach destinations, before arriving at Port Douglas.

Wildlife and Mossman Gorge

An opportunity to discover the local wildlife and enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of Mossman Gorge.

Enjoy scenic views of Port Douglas as you take a drive of approximately 40 minutes to the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary. This renowned wildlife park is designed with enclosures that allow the wildlife to roam in a natural environment. Look out for Giant Tree Frogs, parrots and a multitude of brightly coloured butterflies. The park is also home to koalas and wallabies and you can watch the crocodiles lying around the waterhole. As you stroll around the Sanctuary, your experience is enhanced by the elevated walkways, which put you at eye level with the lush vegetation.

After enjoying the wildlife, you’ll head to the Daintree National Park, traditional home of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people. You’ll view the beautiful Mossman Gorge, with its crystal clear water cascading over large granite boulders. The Gorge is one of the most popular sites in the area, set amongst rainforest that cloaks steep mountainsides. Relax and take in the natural surrounding beauty, before the return drive back to Port Douglas.

Mossman Gorge and River Cruise

A memorable tour taking in the rainforest and the beautiful Mossman Gorge, followed by an exclusive Daintree River cruise.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive up to the Daintree National Park to view the beautiful Mossman Gorge. This area of outstanding natural beauty, set amongst lush rainforest and tropical vegetation, offers tranquil surroundings. Traditional home of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people, you’ll see crystal clear water cascading over granite boulders and lush rainforests.

Afterwards, take in a waterside view as you enjoy a delightful river cruise on the Daintree River. Sit back and relax as your river guide explains fascinating facts of the surrounding area, its wildlife and flora and fauna. The Daintree River is home to crocodiles, numerous species of birdlife and wildlife and offers some breathtaking scenery. Refreshments will be served on the river cruise.

At the end of your cruise, your return drive will take you briefly through Port Douglas.

Kuranda Train and Army Duck - SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Explore the Rainforestation Nature Park by World War Army Duck and enjoy a journey on the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Rainforestation Nature Park, located in north tropical Queensland and set amongst 100 acres of dense lush rainforest. The Park offers the chance to experience indigenous culture and Australian wildlife. You’ll board a World War II, vintage Amphibious Army Duck and travel through the Park by land and water. During your journey look out for turtles, fish and eels and the Park’s kangaroos and koalas in the wildlife sanctuary.

Afterwards, it’s time to head to the Kuranda Scenic Railway station, built in 1886 to connect Cairns with the North Queensland gold fields. This extraordinary railway travels through some of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, crossing 40 bridges and travelling through 15 tunnels. Sit back and relax as you take in the stunning scenery. During your 1½-hour-long train ride, a recorded commentary will explain the pioneering history of the construction of this magnificent railway.

Your train ride ends at Freshwater Station, and on your return coach journey to Port Douglas, you’ll enjoy a brief drive through Cairns and the premier beach resort of Palm Cove.

Skyrail and Army Duck - SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Capture the beauty of the Australian Rainforest from above and discover the local wildlife as you ride in an Army Duck.

The first highlight on this memorable tour is the Skyrail Cableway for an amazing experience over Australia’s World Heritage Listed tropical rainforest. Boarding a 6-person gondola, glide slowly above the rainforest, before descending through the canopy layers and deep into the heart of the forest. During the approximate 45-minute ride from Cairns to Kuranda, you’ll see spectacular views and become immersed in an intimate rainforest experience as you see, hear and smell the tropical rainforest environment.

Afterwards, a short drive takes you to the Rainforestation Nature Park, where you’ll become acquainted with some of the rainforest’s residents, including kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and snakes. Board a World War II Vintage Army Duck for an exploration of the 100-acre park by land and water. Your ‘Duck Captain’ will navigate your Army Duck as you look out for water goannas soaking up the sun or fish and eels swimming around the vessel.

All too soon, it’s time to head back to Port Douglas; your return drive will provide scenic views of Cairns, the Coral Sea and Green Island.
