A full day to discover the highlights, flora and fauna and spectacular scenery of Mahe.
Setting off from the port, you’ll reach one of the smallest capitals in the world, Victoria. Enjoy a walk with your guide and catch a glimpse of the main landmarks, including the National Museum, the old Courthouse and the Clock Tower, a replica of the one in Victoria, London.
Afterwards, take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens, rich with an array of flora and fauna. Visit the giant Aldabran tortoise colony and view the fruit bats, Elephant Apple trees and unique Coco de Mer (double coconut).
Take a scenic drive along the winding Sans Souci Road high, above the town and on to the Mission Lodge Ruins. Here, you’ll see the remains of the school built to educate the freed slave children. Your drive will continue inland along the lower Sans Souci Road, where a short refreshment stop will be made en route, before taking the coastal road to Batista. Upon arrival at a local beach restaurant, you may wish to enjoy a quick dip in the inviting waters, before being served a delicious local style buffet lunch.
Finally, as you return to Victoria you’ll visit the Craft Village where traditional artists display their work, before the return drive to the port.
