Mahe Discovery

A full day to discover the highlights, flora and fauna and spectacular scenery of Mahe.

Setting off from the port, you’ll reach one of the smallest capitals in the world, Victoria. Enjoy a walk with your guide and catch a glimpse of the main landmarks, including the National Museum, the old Courthouse and the Clock Tower, a replica of the one in Victoria, London.

Afterwards, take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens, rich with an array of flora and fauna. Visit the giant Aldabran tortoise colony and view the fruit bats, Elephant Apple trees and unique Coco de Mer (double coconut).

Take a scenic drive along the winding Sans Souci Road high, above the town and on to the Mission Lodge Ruins. Here, you’ll see the remains of the school built to educate the freed slave children. Your drive will continue inland along the lower Sans Souci Road, where a short refreshment stop will be made en route, before taking the coastal road to Batista. Upon arrival at a local beach restaurant, you may wish to enjoy a quick dip in the inviting waters, before being served a delicious local style buffet lunch.

Finally, as you return to Victoria you’ll visit the Craft Village where traditional artists display their work, before the return drive to the port.

Mahe Sights and Beach

An opportunity to see some of the highlights of Mahe and enjoy some time on the beach.

Setting off from the port, you’ll take a scenic drive to the Botanical Gardens, home to a rich array of flora including Elephant Apple trees, Octopus trees and the endemic Coco de Mer palm. During your visit, look out for the fruit bats and view the giant Aldabran tortoises as they laze in their enclosure.

You’ll drive into the centre of Victoria, one of the smallest capitals in the world. Upon arrival, your guide will take you on a walking tour, passing the colourful local market and souvenir kiosks. You’ll also pass landmarks such as the old Courthouse, the National Museum and the Clock Tower, a replica of the one in Victoria, London.

To complete your tour, you will head north, taking in spectacular coastal views, and on to Beau Vallon Beach. You’ll have the opportunity to cool off in the inviting waters, stroll along the beach or simply relax on the warm sands. A soft drink refreshment will also be served.

Cruise and Spice

Cruise along the coastline of Mahe and enjoy a visit to the Jardin du Roi spice plantation.

Board your catamaran at the pier and set sail for a leisurely cruise along the south eastern coastline of Mahe. Sit back and relax as you take in the spectacular coastal scenery of the Seychelles. You’ll arrive at Anse Royale, where your cruising portion of the tour will end and you’ll be transferred by dinghy to the shore.

Enjoy a scenic drive into the Rainforest Valley and on to Jardin du Roi. Pierre Poivre, the famous Peter Pepper, chose Mahe island as an ideal location for growing spices, owing to its perfect latitude. The original site was burnt to the ground and lay dormant until 1860, when William Green created the Jardin du Roi you see today. As you stroll through the plantation, you’ll discover a variety of spice plants, tropical fruit trees and essential oil plants. After your visit, rejoin your bus for a scenic coastal drive back to Port Victoria.

Mahe Highlights

See Victoria, the world’s smallest capital and take in Mahe’s surrounding natural beauty.

The return drive will take you along the lower Sans Souci Road, where a short stop will be made en route for you to enjoy a refreshing drink and take in the lovely coastal views.

Sail and Snorkel

Sail along the beautiful coastline of the Seychelles and take to the waters to discover a fascinating underwater world.

You’ll board your catamaran at the pier and set sail towards Cerf Island, located at the entrance of the National Marine Park. Cerf Island has lush tropical vegetation and its surrounding waters are home to an abundance of marine life.

Upon arrival, the captain will drop anchor ready for your snorkelling experience. A safety briefing and instruction will be given before you don your snorkel gear and take to the inviting waters. During your snorkel, your guide will tempt the fish with some nibbles and you too can join in the fun of hand feeding them.

If you prefer, you may choose to cool off with a quick refreshing dip or stay on board and simply soak up the sun. Soft drink refreshments will be available on board throughout your tour.

Afterwards, relax and enjoy the coastal views once more as you sail back to the pier.
