Your tour commences with a short guided walk which will take you through the town, stopping to admire the Eagle and Digo Afonso Monuments. Head towards the vibrant Mindelo Municipal Vegetable Market, Town Hall Square and the City Hall Church Plaza. You’ll see the replica of Lisbon Belem Tower on the waterfront and the fish market with its brightly painted boats on the beach. Visit the fascinating Mindelo Cultural Centre where you can admire some original paintings by local artists and witness the local craftsmen at work on their intricate tapestries.
Enjoy a drive through bustling Mindelo town centre and the surrounding area of the city, until you reach the stunning Catfish Bay Beach. A growing local holiday destination, with towering mountains in the background, the frequent haze gives a watery effect to the landscape making it a relaxing area for a stroll. During your stop at Catfish Bay Beach, sample Portuguese wine, soft drinks and local snacks while listening to the sounds of traditional folk music by violin and acoustic guitars. Witness an exclusive show of the Mindelo Carnival Kings and Queens in their colourful costumes, a Capoeira Dance show and a Carnival Tan Tan band, a photo opportunity not to be missed.
A brief stop will be made at the Pik D’Zau Mountain, and Cruz Joao Evora, to enjoy picturesque views of the city of Mindelo and the islands of St Vincent and Santo Antao.
