Your tour starts off with a drive into the mountains of Anaga, passing the fishing village of San Andres. On your way, marvel at the magnificent Canary flora, including the ‘Dragon Tree’ and terraces of tiny cultivated plots of land. Arrive at the El Bailadero viewpoint, where you’ll have the chance to capture on film some of the stunning scenery.

At the small village of Taganana, you’ll enter a scene of white houses and bare volcanic mountains, on a horizon of blue sky and shimmering sea. If you wish, you can walk with the guide up the hill to visit the simple church (except Sundays), which houses the figure of ‘Our Lady of the Snows’. Local wine and cheese will be served at a restaurant in Taganana.

A brief stop will be made from the panoramic point of Pico del Ingles, where you’ll have a beautiful perspective (weather permitting) of the north and south side of the island, which is quite unforgettable.

Sunbathe on the catamaran’s netting, whilst sipping complimentary drinks, or enjoy the coastal views as you sit in the shade. Take the plunge off the diving platform into the crystal-clear waters of a nature reserve, where you’ll stop for a swim.

Although there is never a 100% guarantee of whale or dolphin sightings, the crew are always optimistic and will make every effort to seek them out. Throughout the trip, complimentary drinks including wine, beer and soft drinks will be served. A small snack will also be offered during the tour.

The Esperanza Forest is, without doubt, one of Tenerife's most picturesque areas, a vast pine forest stretching for many miles. From certain points on the road rising up through the Forest, you can experience tremendous views over the tree-tops all the way to the distant volcano, Mount Teide.

Reaching Guimar, your guide will take you on a walk around the Pyramids. Although on a much smaller scale to those found in Egypt, these intriguing structures still have many theories behind their construction. Discover the secrets of these creations and admire the architectural perfection, the careful and exact cutting of the rocks, the proportions between the steps, the volcanic origin of the blocks and their perfect orientation to act as sundials. A short video presentation will also explain the findings. Afterwards relax and enjoy a refreshing glass of Sangria or a glass of juice. At Guimar, you’ll also find the Casa Charcona Museum. Enjoy free time to look around or visit the gift shop.

Your transfer will take you south of Tenerife to Playa de Las Americas, the island’s largest and most popular tourist destination.

The resort was ‘born’ in the 1970’s and has quickly developed from a bare shoreline to the high-rise and high-energy resort it is today. The great success of the area is based on the wonderful climate and calm waters. There are several beachside bars, shopping centres, and if you just decide to sunbathe, you are in the best place, as this is the sunniest and driest part of the island.

A transfer by air-conditioned coach takes you north, to Puerto de la Cruz, a popular resort with a charming atmosphere.

However you choose to spend your time in Puerto de la Cruz, you won’t be disappointed. Why not start off by exploring the old colonial part of town, where many of the houses still retain their beautiful architecture and distinctive Canarian balconies? Stop for a coffee in the shady square before exploring the narrow winding streets. Puerto de la Cruz has a wonderful promenade, great for strolling and browsing the many souvenir shops. If shopping’s not your bag, there’s always the Botanical Gardens, situated on the edge of the town, where you can discover plants and trees from all 5 continents.

The mountainous slopes of the Orotava Valley are filled with lush vegetation and banana plantations. Admire the scenic views as you pass by Icod de Los Vinos, situated in the northwest of the island. The town of La Guancha surrounds it to the east, the village and port of Garachico to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the foot of the Teide to the south. A brief stop will be made at Icod de Los Vinos for you to see the massive Dragon Tree here, reputed to be more than a thousand years old.

Pause at the Mirador de Garachico to enjoy a coffee or tea and a local pastry and admire the panoramic views. In Garachico village itself, you may choose to take a dip in the natural lava swimming pools just next to the coast or simply stroll the attractive streets.

A popular holiday resort, charming Puerto de la Cruz occupies an idyllic location where the Orotava Valley reaches the Atlantic Ocean. You will have some free time to walk along the promenade, relax at a seafront café or simply browse the many shops for a souvenir of your visit.

A short transfer from the ship will bring you to your jeeps, ready and waiting to take you on an island discovery.

Embark on your adventure towards the Cañadas del Teide, passing by the attractive Esperanza Forest for a photo stop. Further photo stops will be made before stopping for a comfort break to enjoy a coffee and pastry.

The National Park of Las Cañadas is an enormous crater covering an area of 13,571 hectares, from which emerges the majestic cone of Mount Teide. The mountain is Spain’s highest and can be seen from almost everywhere on the island. The Park also extends as far as the Ucanca Valley, the largest plain in the Park, along with its lava fields. View the rock formation known as ‘God’s Finger’ at the Mirador del Dedo de Dios, where a stop will be made for photos, before your return drive to the ship.

You’ll stop at a local café where coffee or tea and a pastry will be served before reaching the National Park of Las Cañadas. From almost everywhere on Tenerife, Spain’s highest mountain, the Pico de Teide, dominates the horizon and you will be able to admire the views from afar.

Located in the lush Orotava Valley is the market town of Orotava, one of the oldest settlements on the island. Enjoy lunch at Pueblo Chico, before taking a guided walk through the old colonial district. You’ll also have the opportunity to briefly view the House of the Balconies, which dates from 1637.

In Puerto de la Cruz, you’ll have time at leisure to shop or wander along the coastal promenade of this popular holiday resort.

Puerto de la Cruz lies at the mouth of the Orotava Valley. Tree-lined avenues, large modern hotels and a variety of shops have transformed this one-time quiet fishing village into the main tourist hub of the northern part of the island. Enjoy some free time to shop, or stroll along the promenade.

A visit will be made to the Orchid Garden, founded in 1774, where a vast variety of exotic species can be seen. This is the largest orchid collection in the Canaries. Enjoy a glass of wine in the garden during your stay.

Passing the university city of Laguna, the first capital of the island, and the village of Tacoronte, you’ll descend to the small village of El Sauzal for a brief photo stop. Stopping next at Humboldt’s viewpoint, take a look over the vast Orotava Valley with its impressive banana plantations.

Regardless of your age, you’ll be fascinated by the Loro Park. This is where you’ll find one of the world’s most important parrot collections …. and a whole lot more!

The Californian Sea Lions with their distinctive bark are popular characters; the world-famous Parrot Show is a demonstration of the natural instinct and skilfulness which cockatoos and macaws display; and the world’s largest Penguinarium with its reproduction Antarctic climate is one of the most popular spots in which to ‘chill out’. As you enter the Underwater World, you’ll get the eerie feeling that you are actually at the bottom of the sea. These are just a few of the highlights of the Park – join the tour and see the wealth of attractions that Loro Park has to offer.

Lunch is not included in this tour, however the Park offers a range of restaurant and snack facilities.

Las Teresitas Beach is located just a short drive from Santa Cruz, and is the ideal place to relax and soak up some sun.

Upon arrival, the time is yours to do as you please. Soak up the sun, swim in the sea or perhaps explore the neighbouring village of San Andres.

There will be 2 return transfers, allowing the flexibility of a 3 hour or 5 hour stay at the beach.

At the designated times, you’ll meet back with your escort for the return transfer to the ship.

You’ll then continue to the highlight of your tour, the Orchid Gardens of Sitio Litre. The gardens are a part of the Puerto de la Cruz history and Agatha Christie and Alexander Von Humbold are amongst some of its distinguished visitors.

Upon arrival at the Orchid Gardens, you will be welcomed by one of the owners of the house, who will guide you through the gardens giving you the opportunity to marvel at the colourful, showy blooms. Afterwards, relax at the Orchid Garden’s tranquil café where you’ll be offered some local refreshments, before the return drive to the port.

Setting off from the port, you’ll take a short drive to the island’s old capital La Laguna, situated inland from Santa Cruz in the Augere Valley. The city offers a blend of old and new, with its history and architecture, combined with the modern feel of a university city.

Upon arrival, you’ll follow your guide on a walking tour of La Laguna’s well preserved historical centre. A stop will be made at the El Cristo Church, which was the first parish church of Tenerife and is seen as a sight of national importance. You’ll also visit the History Museum, which is a fine example of the Canary Island civil architecture. During your time in La Laguna, you’ll be served a coffee or tea refreshment in a local hotel.

Afterwards, you’ll take a scenic drive to Orotava, stopping en route at the Humboldt Viewpoint for a panoramic view over the Orotava Valley. Once in Orotava, your guide will take you on a walking tour through the town’s charming streets, which offer a wealth of admirable architecture. A stop will be made at the House of Balconies, which dates from 1637. Inside the inner courtyard you’ll find arts, crafts and textiles, and ornate canarian style balconies. Perhaps purchase a souvenir of your visit, before the return drive to Santa Cruz.

Journey to around 7,500 feet above sea level through the Esperanza Forest, one of the most attractive places on the island. Its cool forests of eucalyptus vegetation make way for occasional glimpses of Mount Teide.

Begin your hike at the Mirador de Los Tajinastes in the Ucanca Valley. Enjoy the flora and fauna of this picturesque part of the island as your guide leads you along the park trails. Your hike will end near the Hotel Parador National, where you will have a comfort stop and the chance to purchase a refreshment before joining the coach back to the port.

El Sauzal and Tacoronte have gained a reputation of being the best wine growing regions in Tenerife. Only a short drive from the ship, you will visit the Wine Centre Museum at the old farmhouse mansion of La Baranda. Here, you’ll be offered 3 different kinds of wine: red, white and rosé.

Moving on to Bodegas Alvaro, which holds possibly the biggest collection of wines in the Canaries, you will have the opportunity to try Cava, a sparkling wine, and Moscatel, a sweet wine. A further 3 wines will be tasted, together with a selection of Spanish tapas.

The return drive will take you through the vineyards and the great scenery of Arafo.

From La Laguna, your route turns along the base of the mountain range, through the Esperanza pine forests and foothills to the Teide National Park. A short stop will be made at El Portillo Restaurant for refreshments before heading into the heart of the Park.

Declared a national park in 1954, the Cañadas del Teide National Park includes an enormous volcanic crater, which has been dormant since 1909 and is over 29 miles in circumference. From the crater, rising 12,300 feet, is Mount Teide - the highest mountain in all of Spanish territory. Take in the views of this impressive peak and the surrounding arid landscape in the crater, which is often said to resemble the set of a western movie.

Enjoy some free time at the Parador hotel centre before reboarding the coach for your return journey. En route to the ship several stops will be made for photographs, giving you the opportunity to appreciate the breathtaking scenery.
