Baking queen Mary Berry joins Britain’s first cookery school at sea

Mary Berry will head a line-up of some of Britain’s best-loved chefs on board the new P&O Cruises ship Britannia

Throughout the year, 10 celebrity chefs will run classes at the ship’s state-of-the-art Cookery Club, a dedicated cookery school developed in association with TV chef James Martin, which has 12 stations for up to 24 people. They will also host exclusive table dinners and participate in Q&A sessions and book signings.

Chef, food writer and judge on BBC’s The Great British Bake Off, Mary Berry’s mission is to get everyone baking on B513, a 12-night British Isles cruise departing 6 July. Also on board will be James Martin and Theo Randall, proprietor of Theo Randall at the InterContinental Hotel London Park Lane. Cruise prices start at just £1,129 per person and two-hour cookery classes will cost £100 per person (or £200 per person when hosted by two chefs). Bookings open three months before departure via the Cruise Personaliser.

The other celebrity chefs on board Brittania this year are: Michelin-Starred restaurant owner Nathan Outlaw (B503); legendary French-born chef Pierre Koffmann (B510); Wolseley chef Lawrence Keogh (B514); chef and TV personality James Tanner (B516); modern Indian chef Vivek Singh (B517); Michelin-starred chef Daniel Galmiche (B519); chef and food writer Antonio Carluccio (B523); and celebrity chef Paul Rankin from County Down (B524).

In order to provide guests with a truly professional experience, KitchenAid will be kitting out the area with the very best appliances, while renowned British design company Robert Welch will provide the best knife ranges available in today’s market.
